Ray Foley was having a good dig at him over the last few days :D

Imagine being such an ass that the likes of Ray Foley takes the piss out of you!
if there is a bigger donkey than Darcy out there, this is the guy.

I just had an idea......Today FM, "Celebrity" dee jay white collar boxing, but you can use baseball bats with rusty nails (that are dipped in bat piss) sticking out of them. 1st prize is a gallon of porridge with the blueberries removed.

At the start of the show yesterday, Ray was talking about how the organisers of Glastonbury are providing people with free wifi access at the festival.

He said it was so they could go on internet forums so they could read up about how they should think and feel about the festival and then post about it.

I wonder was he having a pop at boards!

not only that but how about not not saying those things twice please. We get the attempted jokes the first time, not need to repeat them. I wanted to harm myself this morning listening to it, but my wife was in the car and she likes him

But how will his listeners understand if he doesn't repeat himself?!
He shows such disrespect to his audience.

IM going to put my neck on the line and say that ray is not to bad when he is on air ALONE, i think will is in studio but there is no stupid conversations. usually ray goes on crap weekend stories when mairead is in studio.
cant remember who it was ray interviewed last monday i think but we all on here were bloody shocked how good it was.
he can be good but a few tips: cut out telling about your family/life. also your 40+, not 12, dont laugh when someone says sex. stop humming at end of songs.
lock mairead out of the studio, and ray your onto a winner!

edit: 13/06/13 interview with mick wallace proves ray can do a good job if he actually trys

good 44mins, proper no bullsh!t talk, just light talk about lotto etc.

now its gone all wrong, talking to people who love there dogs.

note to ray (mairead), not many people care about other peoples dogs or children. people have there own too.

"Thanks for not really telling us anything"

Wtf did you expect? They already said there wouldn't be an announcement until 'dinner time'. It's your fault that the lotto guy is on the air in the first place.

The gift grub about Ray this morning was good.

Ray said, "you remind me of that Kevin Doyle, i was talking to last week"

I thought Ray was very rude to the man from Lotto, he just gets worse and worse.

Yeah it was very funny. Did you notice that Mairead asked that no more Gift Grubs about Ray be played until she had finished her stint this week :D

yeah gift grub was funny enough for Ray to have words with them! "hold on i'll just abseil down from my chair" ha ha

    yeah he takes it personally

Really? What has he said before about Gift Grub?

I say Mairead will get an earful from Ray next week.

This is really nitpicking, but something bothered me today. As Ray was talking about a film being shot in Co. Kilkenny (I think), Will stated it was a German production. Ray stopped, and in a really condescending way thanked Will for his interruption and his input and went on with his intro to the guest. He did it in a way that said 'who gives a shít who the production is by', that's how it appeared to me anyway.

Then a few songs later he stumbled over the outro of an Air song by saying they were French and how old the song was!! I just felt it was another example of his hypocrisy and how threatened he is by Will.

at the very start of the Ray character, there was words...although I got the impression Ian Dempsey didn't give a sh1t!!

I feel alot of sympathy for Will. Like many of us he has to go to work each day and put up with Ray Darcy for a few hours. At least he`s close enough to punch him if the need arises!

is it me or does he genuinely make a lot of mistakes for some one in his position? ie a professional
i listen to ian Dempsey as well and he rarely makes mistakes like ray does.same with Tony fenton and matt cooper.

Its rediculous the amount of mistakes that Ray makes during his show. The fact that DJ's that are on before and after him don't make these mistakes shows how bad he is.

    ''that Kevin Doyle''

    That was nice.

Ray has a very high opinion of himself. Sometimes I do feel almost embarrassed for him when he is interviewing people, especially people from overseas's.The chances of the Irish people he interviews like that Kevin Doyle for instance knowing he's an arrogant know it all would be pretty high by now I'd imagine.

    Poor Kevin Doyle.

Ray: "Eh ok Kevin. You're in the lower leagues aren't ya now. That's not good is it now? Are you going to move?

Kevin: "Well I've pre season with Wolves soon and we'll see from there. I can't really say much as I'm still in contract"

Ray: "Ah come on tell us?"

Kevin: "I'm still in contract with Wolves so I'll let my agent deal with that"

Ray: *Sigh* "You're not talking today are you? We're going to get hammered by Germany, where will that leave us? Do you think we need someone like Brian O'Driscoll in the team?"

Every day since then Ray has had a shot at Kevin Doyle. What did he expect him to say? What a prat D'Arcy is.

"Ok we've a podcast with Kevin Doyle, who didn't really say much"

The way Ray goes on about the Irish rugby team you'd swear they're grand slam and world champions. They lose most of their games.

Someone said here he reads this thread? Is he that vain? Also I'd find it hard to believe anyone would have a problem with gift grub doing a sketch on them but if he does that shows him up as an awful arse.

He mentions Joe Duffy a bit too, pulling the piss out of that show. But I find both shows very similar in a way. "We got a email in" reads out the rubbish email, and spends the next hour reading out rubbish texts about the email. I do wonder are a lot of those emails made up too.

With regards to his technical ability, Ray clearly believes he is above seeking training in the studio equipment. He is also very self absorbed with a huge opinion of himself, I remember one interview where a person said "you seem like an intelligent man Ray " well ray practically had a ****fit repeatedly saying "I am an intelligent man I don't just seem it " Jesus I thought they were going to have to call a cardiac specialist he wasDfreaking out so much!! He has two styles of interviewing he's either a patronizing prick or he gets star struck and comes across as a moron, in the latter case he always blames the person he interviewed for not being open or talkative. I know I've referenced it before but the opening introduction to the seinfeld interview makes me laugh nervously with embarrassment for him. More amazingly he's still allowed to interview high profile guests. Most of his interviews follow the same tone , babies ,salary and ray's life.

buster180 What kind of things was Ray Foley saying about Darcy??? Used to love the casual digs he'd make on his today fm show. He can probably get away with alot more on his new show. I never get to hear it.

He goes on like he's the first father in history. Talking about his children as if he's the only one in the country to have them. When he mentioned Brian Odriscoll putting the baby asleep and how is the best feeling in the world I wanted to hurt him. Also I see he is destroying another song by over playing the **** out of it. He's actually made me hate bands by doing this. I hate get lucky by daft punk now. He triedto make me hate arcade fire too but I got through it.

To be fair to Ray, a lot of parents go on like they are the first ones in history to ever have had children. :P And yes,to state the obvious, I know, not too many of them have a show on a national station where they can broadcast their views on parenthood!!!

turns on radio ....hears daft punk....turns off radio

(it is actually a good song.....but jeeeaysus)

The only good thing about Ray Darcy is the gift grub impersonation of him.
