One of the posters is a mod so he is hardly going to get a slap on the wrist.

Sorry to interrupt this fascinating demonization of Asian men, ladies, but the Asian man in question appears no longer to be a suspect - the Gardaí have been back on the streets around Portobello, with traffic and pedestrian checkpoints, and the man in question is no longer in custody.

he was released a few days ago. Be interesting to see if our friends are will be requesting the sme kind of background checks if it turns out he's an Irish Christian.

A 31-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the sexual assault of a woman in Dublin earlier this month.

The man who is from Pakistan was arrested by detectives at Kevin Street and brought before Dublin District Court.

Once he serves his time he should be put on the first flight home.

According to RTÉ a 31 year old Pakistani man has been charged, anyone know why he is not being named, normally they name suspects once charged provided they are an adult.

Yes. Dropped home from about 30 thousand feet.

....presumably. Same age, same nationality. We'll know in time.

Restrictions via the Judge. Might be because the one is special needs?

The person who is responsible for this attack is beneath contempt and if caught should get the longest possible sentence for this type of crime.
I hope the poor girl makes a good recovery but I am shocked that anyone could commit a crime of this nature.

    http://www.rte.ie/news/2013/0614/456652-progress-in-inquiry-into-attack-on-woman-in-dublin/

I'd support the death penalty for this sort of offence.

I will be very interested to hear more about this man. Why was he here, where his papers in order etc.

Sometimes, if it comprimises the victim's anonymity, the identity can be withheld.

What does it matter about his papers or his reasons to be here? I'm more interested in justice being done and that the girl recovers mentally and physically from this.

Does anybody care about that when it's a white Irish person accused of a crime?

Doesn't matter where the wretched man is from, he could be any race, colour or creed, because bad people come in all shapes, colours, sizes and creeds. Just like good people do too.

    Why so?

I'd be interested to know his background in Pakistan does he have previous. If so what the hell was he doing here.

They check into every sex offenders background upon conviction as far as I know. Coming from a foreign jurisdiction won't make any difference.

Upon conviction is too late. If he has a record in Pakistan he shouldn't have even been here.

Well this would be an issue for immigration, I agree, but the same about being monitored could be said of any offender.

The death penalty is only punishment to those who are wrongly convicted - if I committed a crime of this nature, I'd prefer the death penalty over jail time - a quick death is much better than rotting in prison. I'd only support the death penalty for re-offending murderers, re-offending rapists and for over-populated countries.

actually I would - like to know who he is esp if he lived in my area.
you know safety and all that:rolleyes:

not to mention drunkenly attacking him with a pitchfork and a torch

back in the late 90's we had a referendum to remove the death penalty - i voted against - but 90% of your country folk decided to trade that for Europe's sweet sweet grants.
can't complain now when criminals of this nature are sent to the happy house instead of the gallows.

I'd guess that the perpetrator was Muslim too. There is a growing problem in European countries with young Muslim men and rape.

Is there a reason for this?
Is there a suggestion that Muslim men do not respect the female gender or what do you think is the cause of this?

For me the main thing is that this man was caught and hopefully if guilty will receive the appropriate sentence.

Yeah, we know you think this. Your research was flawed, remember? You sited a country as having a high percentage of rapists of Muslim background, despite that country not actually keeping records of offenders' religions.

It's called confirmation bias: you already have a biased opinion, based on nothing; and are now running around trying to find confirmation of it.

    Why so?

Because certain foreigners shouldn't be here if they're going to be molesting disabled people.

The problem with the death penalty is that it requires another murder to be committed in order to carry it out, i.e. the deliberate and premeditated killing of another human being.
