Built within days of mine, Belt/Chain on it.

Anything built after 08/10/2007 has the twin belt setup.

Why did they go back to the twin belt? IIRC the old Endura DE in the Mk1/2 mondeo also was twin belt?

No, mine was built November 2007, it is a belt/chain set up. Confirmed by 2 Ford dealers.

I could take a pic of the engine to confirm if someone could direct me to what I am looking for?

I presume a belt of some kind

My understanding was always 08 October 2007 based on info from my local Ford dealer but I will check again in the morning as it is a pretty important question to know the correct answer to!

I was on to the dealer this morning about the car in the OP and it is showing as having the twin belt setup btw.

OP, new wing mirror, the bumper can be repaired, had something similar on her car a few years ago. Was there a foglight on it? Check www.somora.ie for prices on parts. €170 for the bumper, €50 for the foglight. The mirror would be €100 for complete unit or €30 for the cover, but the mirror looks too bad to just get away with the cover. Someone here might be able to advise labour charge on getting them fitted and sprayed.

Not trying to contradict you but it is something you should make 100% sure about.

Was told by a Ford dealer (when trying to ascertain the belt/chain setup of my own 06 1.8 TDCI) that it sometimes depended on what they had lying around in the factory.
So it's a bit of a lotto sometimes...

No worries, 2 dealers, different parts of the country. My mechanic also checked with his contacts. I would be 100% sure on it.
