The picture where he's pulling at her nose and the one where she's holding his hand while he has his hand around her neck are the most disturbing. The nose one strikes me that he's taunting her, you can see her nostrils are flared from being upset/scared/ w/e in the previous pictures. .

From that picture it looks very much like he is holding her hand, not she holding his.

If he is like this in public i can't imagine what he is like behind closed doors, she looks really upset, only her knows what's going on.

If I had the opportunity to squeeze Nigella Lawson, her throat wouldn't be my first choice.

Other balls maybe, but not in a fun way.

or you'd hope one of the diners / restaurant workers would intervene.
Good luck with that L. Very very few will intervene these days. They may gawp yes, but actually make a stand? Rarely. Often for good reason. Many's the person who has intervened in relationship fights only to be turned on themselves by both partners.

Many worry about Artificial Intelligence. I worry far more about Organic Idiocy.

I think Nick Griffin's comment is badly worded but not malicious imo it's one of those comments anyone would say without thinking.

I think I could take a 70yr old.... I really do wish sombody had put down their iPhone on that occasion and rather then taking pics to sell to a tabloid, walked over and asked Nigella if there was a problem? Or failing that, just cock-punched the old bastard.

"About a week ago, we were sitting outside a restaurant having an intense debate about the children, and I held Nigella's neck repeatedly while attempting to emphasise my point.

Crock of sh1te. I've never felt the need to physically reinforce my point in a debate.

If you were trying to emphasize your point you would make a hand gesture of some kind, hit the table maybe, but you wouldn't ****ing put your hand on another human's throat, wife or not, unless you had a violent predisposition

What a **** excuse... he would have been better off saying he was wrong, and should not placed his hand on her throat...

Slightly off topic I know but I wouldn't criticise anyone for not intervening. Butting into a domestic dispute ends up in serious hassle most of the time for the samaritan; something I've learned through painful experience.

Jaysus, he would have been better off keeping his mouth shut about the incident rather than trying to justify with that crap

If that was a playful tiff I'd hate to see him get violent. The proof is in the photos tbh, there's absolutely nothing he can say to justify or excuse what's happening in the photos...

And that's going to be lovely for the children to read... We were fighting about you when I grabbed your mother's throat.

What a pathetic little coward he is. She is obviously upset, she is holding back tears in public ffs.

    From that article:

Nigella's tears were because we both hate arguing, not because she had been hurt.

Right. She wasn't crying because her husband held her by the neck while she looks alternately pleading and afraid. Nothing to do with that at all.

If anyone felt the need to hold me by the neck to emphasise a point, I'd be very worried about their ability to hold their temper.

Aaaand let's wait and see the posts roll in taking his side... "See, playful tiff" "Knew it was nothing serious" "doesn't look malicious at all in the photos"

Yes, I know very true. It's difficult even for the police to get involved in domestic disputes.
I suppose I was thinking more along the lines of them being asked not to make a scene as opposed to someone trying to be heroic.

I'm actually glad that someone like him would say that, while appalled at what he actually said. The safest bigot, is an open bigot.

If Charles Saatchi claims that's a 'playful tiff', perhaps someone should give him a 'whimsical pat' to the bollocks.

Did I say people couldn't express an opinion?

I just think said opinions are a little disturbing given the expressions on Nigella's face. Didn't one poster even say she was looking lovingly at him???

It's really a sad state of affairs that people who cause an issue with something like this. Is it any more inappropriate than a girl slapping a guy who she feels wronged him? Because I see that all the time in clubs.
The article even said he walked away looking guilty and ashamed, he probably lost his temper at whatever the issue was and felt regret. She was probably upset at whatever caused the issue and his reaction rather than because her neck hurt.

It is a complete invasion of privacy. Don't believe everything the papers tell you either.

I'm not sure we can call it an invasion of privacy since it was a public place.

If you want to keep your partner abuse private, you shouldn't do it in the public garden of a restaurant in full view of other diners.
