    I am looking for that special formula which can be used to calculate how young is too young for a given man to go out with a beor/female.

    Half your age plus 7 I think, it's a stupid concept anyway.

    It was on the project maths paper this year. Surprised you didn't know.

    If they get up to offer you their seat when you walk into the room.

    If there's grass on the pitch?
    I really should post more in the mathematics forum.

    Below 18 its a absolute Max of 2 years. Above 18 and any things fair game.

    This is elegant maths. i need a sophisticated solution currently have x/2 +7 where x is your age. however I dont feel this takes enough into consideration.

    consider an 80yo... by this rule they may date a 47 yo. for me this is absurd and outlines a flaw with the current algorithm. any more advanced models out there?

    Sh1t man - i reckon there's only so many people who know the word beor - is it not slang very local to the midlands - we use it all the time where i'm from

    anyway - its half your age plus 7.........or over 18 if the algorithm aint working in your favour

    It's perfectly ok if you fancy your gran.

    And think of the inheritance.

    try{
    CheckGirlOut (girl);
    }
    catch(TooYoungException e) {
    System.out.println("Enjoy prison!")
    }

    Everyone is very witty and whatnot but I am yet see a sophisticated, new approacj to this solution. can someone explain the significance of 7?

    Actually taking that "Half your age plus seven" thing as gospel is thick. What if they're half your age plus six? Will you die if you go out with them or something?

    Exactly, stop trying to argue and brainstorm solutions.

    Girls start getting hot at age 7.

    (I am joking)

    Why? What will you do if she doesn't?

    I think the idea of adding a constant is ludacris. A percentage depending on the age would be more appropriate. Perhaps growing exponenentially?

    I think growing exponentionally should be left to the man ;)

    Why? what are you trying to imply? or do you merely enjoy waving your authority around?

    18+-(how much the neighbours snigger)/2+X(y) where x is if she's 18 or over it's ok as long as you're OK with people thinking she's only with you for your money if y>10

    :confused: I'm not waving any authority around, just thought the post was a bit rude.

    Is it not half your age plus 7 or divided by 2? or half your age and then plus 7 or minus 2? Something like that. :/

    Interesting approach. perhaps a formula devised to give parameters both sides of one's age makes more sense? though.. in general... one can go with someone many years older while not necessarily many years younger. Do we have mathematicians?

    if (age > 17)
    {
    bang();
    }
    else
    {
    dontBang();
    }

    ya need an unhandled exception block and yer missing a semi colon after the one thats there...........for the record!!

    (x-17) > 0.
    After that it's just a matter of opinion and taste.

    I think x/2 + x/3 is more appropriate. open to feedback.
