Well as i type this on my bed I can see the ATC tower in Cork :pac:
Ive always been fascinated by planes thanks to my dad, then theres the ww2 side of it (i must own a DC-3 Skytrain) and the fact that at the end of the day they are teaching you to fly! And fly a Pilatus pc-9m in particular :D
I had to be measured twice at the fitness test last week, scraped in 2nd time by not standing so proud by half a cm :o

Im being realistic, its still very much a pipe dream, but at least its good practice for the Army and Navy stages

Good call on removing the high heels tbh

Question for yas regarding classic insurance.

My car will be 14 years old in January when my insurance is up for renewal, would anyone offer me a classic policy on it? (Mileage is about 7-8k miles a year).

Best to talk to AXA, but I think it is for over 15 years though but I'm not sure. Talk to Myles O'Reilly in Axa he'll tell you whats what. (he's a friends dad/family friend :))

Probably going to need a 15 year old car Voodoo. Also you need to have another policy on another ''daily driver'' in your own name too AFAIK.

Interesting, never thought about it being the main car alright, could be a problem.
Best thing is to give them all a call I suppose.

Why do people do this

when you take pictures on an iphone / ipad it takes them whatever way the camera sensor is facing then adds a 'rotation' tag in the exif to tell them what way they should be facing , on the iphone, safari, iphoto and adobe bridge and a lot of other software they come out the right way , but web browsers dont recognise the rotation tag , and unfortunatly holding the iphone the correct way (volume buttons facing up) is actually upside down.

    its retarded.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,302 ✭✭✭Supergurrier

But surely they have to upload the pics on imageshack or the like first anyway and even that has a rotate tool :p

I'm well aware of the problem unfortunately

But I would still manage to check them before posting the ad and fix it :P

Hmmm, €620 for fully comp on a 2172cc and half annual tax of €527 = €1147 for some rear wheel drive madness :D. Edit: Could be a bit less...

Jaysus this thread moves fast. Have rarely been in here before :)
My eye sight is the one thing that might catch me out too.

Consider getting them lasered? Got mine done nearly 12 years ago, best thing I ever did!

Not a hope. Some companies insure exotics (Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Porsches, etc.) as a classic at 15 years old but a BMW 7-series is not considered to be exotic :)

Out of interest, what are you paying in insurance? The last premium I paid for my 735 V8 was about €450 fully comp with limited business use and inclusive of full no claims protection (would have been fully comp for about €320 without business or protection). Classic policy won't be much better than that anyway...

Campion insurance will insure anything once its 15 years old and you are a member of a certain vintage club ;)

That's true- laser is not allowed in the AC.

Speaking of eyesight I wear contact lenses every day. Once of little feckers popped out of my eye on the bus this morning on the way to work... no spares or glasses with me as I rarely have a problem. Had to wait until lunch to pop down to speccysavers to get a spare lense put in.. annoying on a computer when your closing one eye to focus on the screen! All sorted now I can see in both eyes again :D

You're way out on this one! First Ireland (Broker, using Chartis) will offer a Classic Policy on a 13year old 7 series (its what Im on), though generally its 14years old+.

    I pay EUR503 for:

    850CSi E31
    740i E38
    525i E34

Thats EUR503 for all 3 without normal or "main" car policy (20% increase on premium if you only have classics) on a daily driver. The Chartis policy is really good too.

Yeah, its mental. I keep shouting "Buy a V8, cheap to insure" but everyone reads "TAX is high".
