That stuff is mighty, but I end up wasting half of it because the cap never screws on tight enough and it all dries up. Same with most mastic/silicone gun applied products. There's a market there for a better designed applicator system

Put a big blob of vaseline in the cap before putting it on. Problem solved.

But that would damage sales :(

I'm talking about reality and real time prices, if you want fantasy read the IFJ

+1, factory quotes on the journal for lambs are generally at least 20c/kg less than what's available, I keep telling farmers they're not getting enough if it's what's quoted on the journal

Funny how things work out. We sat down to watch Les Miserables the movie. I assumed I'd hate it and she'd love it. She went to bed after 30mins and I remained glued to it. Thought it was brilliant!

    Could anyone tell me..

How much would the water piping be per foot/yard/meter? The black wavin stuff.

Finally convinced the boss to divide the field up into separate paddocks, now to get the water sorted.

3/4 inch normal gauge wavin, 150metre roll = 90odd euro.

Can't remember how much the joiners & T-pieces were, but i remember thinking they were expensive  :o

EDIT : Changed to 150m as pointed out below by Blue :)

for short runs to paddocks 1/2 inch will do. €50 for 150m. Fittings are cheaper too ;)

It you can run 3/4 in a loop so that water is coming from both sides it will increase flow at farthest point and 1/2 is fine for spurs of this main line.
No point in going overboard for a small herd.

I thought these are sold in 150m rolls?

Shop around if you are buying a few rolls, it varies from 120-90 yoyo, but so does the quality:(

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

    Why Hugo, why?

To quote delaval that stuff is only any good for driving cattle onto lorries. 1 inch is absolute minimum. Friction loss is far to high with anything less. 1 inch is four times the volume of half inch and inch and a half is almost 10 times the volume. Much less pressure on your pump and a much better water supply in your field with the larger pipes.

Bit of rain has created ideal conditions for to sort out last year's poached fields. Spent the evening running the land leveller and then the ring roller. It's not a pretty site, but with a week of growth it will look well.

You can turn off the rain now. We have enough to do us for a few weeks!
