I'd say the time for her to come to her senses passed a few years ago.

I never once thought he was responsible for the daughters disappearance and was surprised to read some of the comments here tbh, some one mentioned to me in passing he was questioned at the time, don't know if this is true did not follow the case at the time.

He was briefly questioned. I can't remember the exact details, and it may have been mentioned in this thread, but way too much to back over.

As far as i can remember, it wasn't suspected that she as abducted, and he was questioned and let out quick enough. Then he was questioned again two weeks later.

Their Solicitors apartment or office in Spain was broken into, and the only things that were robbed, were Amy's phone, Evidence that the Police had built up, and his laptop (With more information on the case.)

The solicitor said he had no doubt in his mind that it was related to Amy's case, as nothing else was missing, and there was plenty of expensive items to take.

The whole thing reeks of something very strange.

What do you have to be involved in to be in fear of your life, or for gangland members to be suspected in your daughters disappearance? Costa Del Sol is notorious for certain activities.

I'd imagine any dad/stepdad, neighbour would be questioned over a disappearance like that. I didn't know about the solicitor robbery, very suspicious. Thanks.

I find it hard to understand how the mother is standing by the man who stabbed her son to death.

There is an allegation of self-defence.

People should be careful of jumping to conclusions.

The facts as we know them:

Mahon's life was believed to be in danger in the weeks prior to his step-son's death
Mahon has claimed that he killed his step-son in self defence; Gardaí have taken the unusual step of not detaining Mahon.

Draw your own conclusions if you want to, but I wouldn't be jumping to any conclusions about Mahon.

He still stabbed her son to death, irrespective if it was self defence or not.

    This an awful sad case

I'm so confused. So he never was convicted of either killing? Why is he linked to both?

This is a very strange and sad story. The mother's behaviour after her son's death seemed off-key to me. Perhaps it's the shock and grief kicking in. I don't know...

The mother says she will be sitting alone at the back of the church during the funeral as she knows she is not wanted at the front!
    More strange and sad news

The last judge didnt believe his cock and bull story the last time and I'm sure they wont believe this..

How is being stabbed an accident? Given what he said the last time, he'll probably claim they were chopping onions together when the knife slipped?.. And how can he claim that "jaysus I didnt know that he died until I heard the news".. What did he think was going to happen when he left the guy losing blood.. The very minimum he should have done was to ring the emergency services and tried to save the guy's life... Instead he tried to get rid of the knife and conceal the crime...

HOW can the missus stand behind him????
Didnt he stash the weapon and hide for 24 hours? Strange for an accident

I don't want to pass judgement but jesus christ what kind of family is this!

One girl missing, one son stabbed by his step father, the father seeking a high court injunction to prevent the son's body being released to his mother, the mother making statements to the media about sitting "alone" at the back of the church (really?)... at some stage the family and the media need to stfu

Not only that, but she was photographed with Dave Mahon later that day after being 'too ill to attend' her own son's funeral. Absolutely warped carry on. She'll probably release a book down the line somewhere.

Costa del sol police working with gardai after stabbing of teen's brother Dean. Spanish cops probing Amy Fitzpatrick’s disappearance have contacted gardai over her brother’s killing, it emerged last night.

Police are working closely with detectives here following the stabbing of Dean Fitzpatrick by his stepdad Dave Mahon two weeks ago, the irishmirror.ie can reveal.

And the siblings’ heartbroken aunt Christine Kenny said she now hopes Dean’s death will unlock the mystery of Amy’s 2008 disappearance in Spain.

In another development, security sources have revealed several people have come forward with new information about Amy.

But the last person to see her before she vanished was her best friend Ashley Rose, who was living just 10 minutes away.

Ashley recalled how Amy stayed with her to babysit her brother before heading back home at around 10pm.

The 19-year-old said on Sunday that she is convinced her friend was killed.

She said: “It was someone out there who knew her, that’s my opinion.

“I know Amy’s dead. I don’t hold on to any hope of ever finding her alive.

“We all had someone on our radar at the time and that hasn’t changed over the years.”

If you read that article critically, you'll see there's actually very little in it.
And Spanish police have exclusively told us they:

    * MAY travel to Ireland to take new statements over Amy’s disappearance
May? What does that mean? Not much.
    * WILL apply to extradite any new suspects identified in Ireland.
Obviously they will. Nobody would ever have doubted that.

Seriously, I wouldn't rely so heavily on the Mirror for any reliable information.

It's pretty clear they just rang up a Spanish police station and got the same answers the police would have given in relation to any serious criminal investigation.

I read in one of the papers yesterday, that 5 months after she went missing her mother had her mobile phone on the late late show even though her best friend said Amy had the phone with her leaving her house and she "never made it home"

How do you figure she's an awful mother? Her daughter is missing, presumed dead. She left an abusive relationship and ended up with a guy who killed her son. I can't imagine anyone being able to process all that and act rationally. It's not a sign of bad parenting, it's a sign of not being able to cope.

Can't imagine who in their right mind would go back to their child's killer before said child was even buried. She missed her own sons funeral and instead went for drinks with the killer. She's been updating the media with absolute crap since the son has been killed. It's almost like she cared more about her 15 mins of fame instead of trying to pull herself together for the sake of her dead son and her grandchild. Every single day since he was killed, either one of them was in the papers.

All her family and friends appear to have abandoned her and the only person she has left is the same person she had when her daughter disappeared. It's hardly unthinkable that she'd stick by him.

To be honest could you blame them abandoning her when she's brainwashed by such a controlling physco? She is being a complete tool for him putting him before her children and its no wonder she's on her own.

I disagree , Audrey missed the funeral because she couldn't face the press in her face, and she's back with him because it was a accident/self defence. If it wasn't why isn't he in jail. why is he walking the streets. This crap about her son knowing something about amy's death is just the media jumping on the wagon. If you knew something of the disappearance of your little sister you would f**kin wait 5 years to tell someone.
