Just check out the Sudden Death syndrome and find out if your board has the effected chip. If so, you wanna run a "safe" kernel.

There's a Huwaei camera posted earlier in this thread, just download it and flash it with CWM

In fairly new to modding, so I stand to be corrected on this.......

It depends on the rom you use. The ones that are based on Samsung firmware, for example foxhound and omega, are capable of running Samsung apps if you add them back in after flashing. So in those cases you should be able to add the fm radio apk.

AFAIK other roms not based on Samsung, eg Slimbean, Cyanogen Mod, can't add Samsung apps after flashing. I tried s voice apk on top of Slimbean and it wouldn't work. Same for s planner. So I guess the fm radio wouldn't work either.

You could always try an app like tunein radio, it needs a data connection, but it's very good.

yes I've heard what you said before.theres an actual radio app called spirit radio it doesnt use data at alll but i like the samsung one.and my data limit isn't huge so using tune in radio isn't really an option.

    cheers for the reply.

You can buy an fm radio app called Spirit that is fantastic if you can't find a rom you like that retains the radio function within it. That's what I did and I'm very happy with it. Costs around 4 euro but well worth it when you consider how much you'd spend on data playing radio over it over a year or two.

Hey lads trying to get back onto the stock eMobile firmware so I can send the phone back for repair, had a look on SamMobile but they don't seem to have any eMobile firmware for the S3, anyone know where I can download it?

Maybe I'm wrong but the Meteor firmware should do the trick as Emobile and meteor as basically the same thing.

I've had a look at the S2 firmware which does have both eMobile and Meteor versions, seems to be some differences in the code names. Will probably try it, or maybe see if I can do it through *shudder* KIES.

I flashed this a few weeks ago. Fantastic - easily the best rom i've tried.

going to bite the bullet and root my s3. had a sensation before and no problems rooting with that. my only issue is with the s3 is can i choose any custom rom that is for the s3 gt-i9300 model or does it depend on your baseband version (i9300BUEMF2) and build number (JZO54K.I9300XXEMF1).

Where's the best place to start investigating rooting my S3? Obviously XDA but anyone have any links for step by step guides etc. Rooted both my Desire and Desire S back in the day so I'n not new to this whole thing. Just a little rusty. What ROMs would people suggest?

Worked a charm. Thank you very much. It really does everything for you. Simple and explains it all very clearly to you at each step too. I'd recommend it. Running CM nightly now.

Don't bother though, it only comes with Paronoid Rom which I tried and was terrible. Screen flickering constantly, laggy and constant crashing. Made a mistake then by wiping factory settings and forgot to put a rom into the root folder. Had to flash a stock rom with odin to get it going again :). I'm actually sticking with the stock rom (with root) as the battery is better than the roms I was using.
