Bon Jovi being generous? Pity there's no recession around here!

Multi-millionaire band reduces cost for hard pressed fans. My faith in humanity is restored.

I honestly don't get the bashing. All the tickets for the Madrid gig were reduced but there were some selected ones for other gigs that were reduced (and were really crappy seats from the look of it). Boo hoo they didn't do it for Ireland - are we such a bunch of whingers that we don't like to see anyone do something nice for another country without moaning that we didn't get it too?

And why are the people who said that they wouldn't go to the Bon Jovi concerts anyway so annoyed about it? Surely doesn't affect your life at all.

I am going to the Slane gig & ok I wasn't thrilled about the price but concert ticket prices here are a joke anyway. It's not just them & as someone mentioned, it's not like they set the price.

Irish people love to exaggerate their misery, we've treated this downturn as if we've regressed to 1930's poverty levels. Our problems are nowhere near as bad as Spain, Greece or most of the world, we're still in the top 15 for most country stats like wealth, standard of living, low crime etc.

That's about as original as some of Jon Bon's lyrics.

Originals are always better than remixes.

So Bon Jovi have waived their performance fee and reduced the price of their tickets to their Madrid show to between €18-€40 as a ''thank you'' to their Spanish fans for 30 years of support and in consideration of how bad the recession has hit Spain.....

Well I hadn't realised that the recession had missed Ireland and things were so good here :-)

Bon Jovi just figured out what our European masters have known for years. The Irish will always take whatever you give them.

I thought "fair play", until I read this ^^. Reducing the price of tickets in Australia to $35 (€25)!! They are booming over there FFS! Fair enough, reduce the price if tickets aren't selling, but don't try to make out they're doing it to say thanks to their fans in a cash-strapped nation.

i have seen pretty much every major rock band over the past 30 years in person and never had a bad time at a bon jovi gig even the night it pissed rain, thunder and lightning in rds back in 2001

That concert was amazing. There was a special atmosphere that night. Everyone was like drowned rats, but no-one cared. Would love to see that moment again where Jon Bon Jovi said something about the Gods, and then a massive bolt of lightening lit up the whole place. It just couldn't have been timed any better. I've read somewhere that they have said that was one of their favourite concerts ever. Shame it wasn't recorded for the live DVD.

I'm not even a big Bon Jovi either.

Oh yeah, it was actually 2000 though :D

Have to get myself a leather jacket, like Jon Bon with the flag painted on. The stars busting out of my chest and the vertical stripes, like a tight corset :o swoon!
