Is it worth the wait for the new intel chipset? Currently have an i3-2120 and a 7870 xt i wanna upgrade to an i5 and a new mobo to OC. Im thinknig its better to invest 300euros in an upgrade than buy a new console.

What motherboard have you got now? You might be able to pick up a cheaper second hand CPU.

Asrock b75 pro 3 I dont think ya can OC with that mobo.

    No, you can't.

It'll probably cost slightly over the €300, I'd say for a new 1150 board and CPU. The motherboards tend to be dearish on launch. You might be able to redeem some money by selling the existing board.

Alternatively, there'll probably be motherboards and CPUs for sale second hand from this generation, when the new ones go on sale. If you're in the right place, you might see a bargain. You don't see new previous generation CPUs discounted much.

It would be much better than a console, whatever you go for. Sure what you have now is better than any console currently out.

I've no problems with my current rig playing New tomb raider ultra settings 1080p at 60 fps. I suppose my question is, is it worth waiting a few weeks for the i5 - 4770k and a new mobo or get the i5- 3570k and a new mobo now? also i dont mnid sending up to 400 euro.

In your case it's probably worth the wait. You have a decent rig to tide you over until Haswell and decent boards are released.

Is there going to be a 790 dual gpu board...now that would be something.

I'm sure there will be eventually, but I wouldn't expect it any time soon.

Lads looking at a new monitor to run dual monitors, use my crappy 19" monitor as my secondary one, and my new one as primary one. Anyways, ive seen the LG IPS monitor been reccomended by so many people on the forum so I had a look to see how much it would cost me.

Only 100 pounds on amazon? Is this the one? If it is I think im going to order it before it goes back up, seems like a good price for what seems to be a class monitor.

I have the 23" version of this - i have no complaints - except the stand is pretty wobbly. Doesnt bother me though as i had planned to get an adjustable arm for it from the start. ive seen it written here they are the same panels as the dell ips monitors so there will probably be plenty of reviews for that if you want to check them out

not sure if it has been asked before but for a new build, how much is the postage from http://www.hardwareversand.de/ . looking at the website i cant seem to get a definite answer, is it a flat rate, or does it go by weight or a mix of both of them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,181 ✭✭✭Serephucus

    €18.99 flat rate.

Lads can one get anything like this in ireland?

    http://specialtech.co.uk/spshop/customer/home.php?cat=2308&page=1

To drain my res is very difficult because of the postion its in so a 90 degree fitting would be perfect
Im half thinking of changing the res/pump bay and getting somthing like this bad boy
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Swiftech-Maelstrom-Reservoir-Temperature-Monitor/dp/B00915IENU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1369692898&sr=8-2&keywords=Swiftech+Maelstrom but of course it wont be coming from special tech

somthing like this would be ideal

The only place for water cooling parts in Ireland is Adverts.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,132 ✭✭✭game4it70

I use one of these (nozzle bends alot)
    http://specialtech.co.uk/spshop/customer/500ml-Squeezy-Bottle-for-filling-Watercooling-Systems-pid-10035.html

If you squeeze the bottle and then submerge the nozzle it will suck the coolant out.
You should be able to get something like it here.

m-atx would definitely be a +, there are a few m-atx case mods online
so it should be doable within the same dimensions.

I would love not have to pay that itx tax !

What about the Corsair 350D. Perfect for a matx dual gpu setup. Even enough room for dual 140 rads.

I really want one of these.
