You know OP, your interpretation of the ad actually makes me want to see a follow up ad where they patch things up. It would be better than Fair City!

OPENING SHOT: Husband having a nice cup of tea in a mug with "Big Boss" written on it.
He's sitting at the breakfast bar, casually looking at the racing on his iPad. He looks to camera:

"Since getting the UPC broadband installed, the wife and me are getting along much better.
I didn't know how bad things had gotten until I saw what fibre-broadband could do for us.
Then I saw what we were missing. We used UPC to book a break for us - we went off to the
Antrim coast for a few days and it was like when we first met, we couldn't keep our hands
    off each other.

Don't leave it too late, or try other substandard marital aids like 3 broadband or Meteor sticks,
you'll only make things worse. Take it from someone who nearly lost it all -
you can get the spark back. "

He looks over at the sofa, and his wife is having a nap, knackered from their bedroom
    acrobatics from the night before.

He then looks out the window at Craig Doyle who is sweating like a slave, frantically washing
his car for him. He smiles at the camera and winks, a happy man, king of his castle once more.

I thought you were on about that guy who walks and acts like a woman in the other Fibre Power ad, you know the one where that guy takes pictures of the concert and on the train, he has such a girly, womanly walk and vibe about him, already hes annoying me and I dont even know him!

Yeah, totally get that. There is a touch of class about her.
I can totally see her doing one of those charity calenders
in the nip. Maybe out in the potting shed with a couple of strategically
placed geraniums. Don't forget the gloves and the wellies nom nom nom :D

Mind you, this is a much sexier broadband advert:

Have you only arrived on the internet in the last year? :)

The Hoff was one of the original internet memes, pictures and jokes and all sorts abounded of the Hoff online probably from 2001 - 2006. Mr Hoff, not doing anything of significance, decided to seize this unlikely upsurge in popularity and make some money doing cheesy broadband ads.

It pretty much killed the meme stone dead, even though the ads were good. A celebrity seizing their meme is a little bit like having to explain the punchline of a joke.

Yesterday, I only just got ...whats the term you kids use these days?... online!

I was expecting a more dramatic story like the UPC Lady and her hard difficult relationship..

Dammit, ever since this thread made me think of that ad in a sexual context, the phrase "we've been fibre powered, have you?" sounds absolutely filthy ;)

Siún Nic Gearailt off the RTE News wins all.

She is so hot it is ridiculous! Even if she was speaking English I still probably wouldn't catch most of it:)

Is that UPC woman related to Mammy Stark from game of thrones aka Margot Al Harazzi from 24? They look very alike

    Edit:
The mother speaking in this ad is Lady Cathleen Stark from Game of Thrones
    .

    Eh, never mind!!
