No, they're the same. I can't explain why that'd be happening. Maybe I'll contact Flubit about it and find out if it's their end or what, because if you check for yourself, you'll get the same result as me.

Same problem here. Though I originally asked them to search for the Nexus 4 8gb and I've decided that I'd prefer the 16gb, so I've given them the new demand and I'll see where that gets me.

Just ordered using Flubit with a £16 saving! Now to wait and also figure out how to tell the girlfriend I bought a new phone I don't need and can't bring her on holiday! :pac:

I ran tests last week by making two demands for a 16GB Nexus 4 using the URL in my post and the URL given by Jess at Flubit that was mentioned a few pages back. I kept in contact with Flubit over PM on Facebook about it. Both demands were successful.

It could be something random. I have no other way of explaining it. I just know that the URLs worked perfectly for me.

You should have ordered a tough case with it. Make sure you keep the phone well away from her! :P

Ah crap I forgot about a case, I've never used a case on a phone in my life though, I've my SGS II 2 years now and its pristine, is there any particular reason the Nexus 4 needs a case?

When you touch the Nexus 4 for the first time, after using a S II, you'll notice one thing about it. It's cold to the touch and feels expensive. It has such a premium feel to it. But that comes at a cost.

The glass on the front and back is strong but there's no such thing as scratch proof at the moment. Chances are you'll get the new model with the nubs on the back to raise the surface when it's lying on a table but they'll only do so much for you. People/reviewers on YouTube have gone without putting cases on it (mainly the original model without the nubs) and the glass does get scratched - chances are you'll be putting it on surfaces from time to time that are harder than the glass itself.

At the very least a good bumper case is encouraged. I originally went with the official bumper. But if you want complete protection, you can go for something silicone-based like the Ballistic SG case or the Seidio ACTIVE. I subsequently purchased the latter, and it arrived today. The cost is ~€30 for either, but the latter must be ordered from the US and the shipping is factored into the price I mentioned. The former is on Amazon. There are also good bumpers on Amazon, with one having a transparent back. It's called the Ringke Fusion and it's cheaper than the two tough silicone cases mentioned above. Don't worry if you need to use PM as a delivery address for whatever you choose. It might even work out cheaper to ship it there then to Ireland directly.

EDIT: I made a post about cases in the Nexus 4 owners thread a week or two ago.

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=84518943&postcount=384

In addition, here's the Ringke Fusion. Some Boardies have bought one of these and seem quite happy, but it doesn't have the same drop protection as the more expensive silicone cases mentioned above. Hopefully, we'll never need to find out how little or much protection they do have! The advantage of the Fusion is that unlike the official bumper, it has a backing. It's a transparent backing so you can still see the elegant design of the phone, which the more expensive tough cases do cover up.

Ordered a N4 bumper with Flubit, took an age to get here (2 weeks, 11 days before it actually shipped) and I've fell in love with my phone again - great protection and I can hear my speaker when its on a flat surface now.

Do you mean it took 3 weeks and 4 days to ship!?

Ha, I thought the same at first. Though, he definitely means 2 weeks. 11 days to ship and 3 days to arrive. 3 days is pretty standard once you get that shipping notification. It all fits.

Aha! Was panicking there, in 3 weeks I'll be away and not be able to collect at PM!! It better come before that! My order has been 24 hours in the "processing payment" phase on Flubit, is that normal?

Yeah, as I recall. By Tuesday next week, give Fireworks a call, and ask them about the status of your order. It can't hurt to keep on top of it.

I find Flubit's website to be a bit of a hard hat area. What you see shouldn't always be believed. For example, you won't see the tracking number appear on the website once it dispatches. I'm not sure if that has been fixed but it's one of the things that wasn't working on the site properly when I was using it.

You can call Fireworks sooner if you want to get an answer ASAP, assuming nothing changes by tomorrow. Tomorrow is your best bet as they close at 16:30. Don't forget to have your order number to hand.

Sorry, didn't see this before. You're grand in that case, it's perfectly normal.

How accurate are their estimated delivery times? I ordered (as in paid for) a N4 last Wednesday and there's no movement on it, yet the N10 I ordered this Monday was updated as "confirmed with the supplier, and your estimated delivery date has been updated" a few hours after I paid or it.

So do they update things randomly or are the N10s a lot faster shipping than the phones?

I had my N10 8 days after ordering; delivery took only 3 days (including 1 day for Parcel Motel).

We believe the Nexus 4 is still in hot demand right now compared with all their other products.

I'd say you'll get a dispatch notice by next week. However, my advice is to call Fireworks come this Friday at 16:00 if nothing has changed before then, to at least see where they're at with it.

My order for an N4 went through on the 10th
On the 17th I contacted Flubit for an update and a guy from Fireworks got back to me pretty quickly with an estimate dispatch date of 20th
It was dispatched on the 20th
Just checked PM and it is in Belfast
So I reckon it will be in my local PM tomorrow
    13 days all in

    Chuck

I ordered and paid for an N4 on the 11th. I got an email from Flubit on the 20th saying "Your order has now been confirmed with the supplier" and "ESTIMATED DELIVERY DATE:23rd May 2013 - 27th May 2013......

I haven't been so excited since Christmas 1969......

I eventually cancelled my order with Google and ordered thru Flubit.

I paid on the 19th so hopefully I will have an update early next week.

Haha yes exactly, 2 weeks total is what I meant :) But turns out my guesstimates were wrong and it took a bit longer (thought I ordered on the 5th) and I had to message them after a while to find out what was going on. I will use the service again for sure but maybe for a dearer item where I can see the savings (Chromebook?).

Still though, kinda makes sense since you wait until the item arrives to the seller who then ships it to you. Good auld PM working wonderfully of course ;)

For all you guys getting the N4 now, enjoy! I was lucky enough to get one of the first batch on release day (in Australia of all places!) and I haven't looked back. Not a single phone has come out since that makes me think "oh I'm missing out" and I've had it for 6 months now!

Top tip: do yourself a favour and download Franco Kernel Updater from the play store: it'll be the best tiny bit of money you spend on it. Battery life goes through the roof, you can use it to fix "gamma settings" (just use the recommended settings in the app itself) which makes the screen look like it should rather than horribly washed out, which was what I had to deal with for a few months.

I can now easily get 2 days of moderate use (a few calls, lots of whatsapp, 3G internet) out of it. When I first got the phone, with Google's own kernel, I was lucky to even get a day out of it.

If you're even braver, get some custom software onto it. Check out the XDA Developers Nexus 4 original software forum for ideas. Paranoid Android software is excellent, as is Minco (which I'm using on mine now).

Hmmmm... Chrome and Firefox both worked for me.

On a side note I see there are two parcel farce packages arrived for me in the PM depot in NI, looks like the N10 and its cover will be arriving today (the earliest fubit's web side said they would arrive), well played gentlemen. Now if only they could knock a couple of days off the estimated delivery of the N4...
