Hopefully its not littered with inaccuracies & artistic licence like The Damned United

It's a film, not a documentary so of course its gong to take artistic licence. Well i'd imagine so anyway. The Damned United reflected the book pretty much did it not?

The film falsified events, its suppose to be factual not fiction. I wont watching Peter Mullans film if it goes the same route.

The Clough Family boycotted the film, John Giles heavily criticised the book & film, Dave McKay sued. Martin O'Neill criticised it and other people that knew him said that film should have never been made.

and what historical film hasnt done the same? It's the filmmaker's interpretation at the end of the day. Anyway i seriously doubt Daniel day lewis is going to star in it if its ever made.

Didnt realise McKay sued. How did that end up do you know?

The Celtic Story sells itself, they wont need to make stuff up. If they stick to the true story and deliver it well, they'll be onto a winner.

What club is that? One of Celtic's best players ever was a Protestant and a Rangers fan to begin with, our greatest manager was a Protestant...

"Jock, if there were two players, one Catholic and one Protestant. Who would you sign?"
    "The Protestant"
    "Why?"
"Because I know that Rangers would never sign the Catholic"

    Oops! :pac:

I wonder if they'll touch upon that little issue regarding Hibs' players ;)

    Awfy touchy Demps.
The two examples you gave were 70 years after Celtic's formation.

Yes, i'm sure protestants played for Celtic before that too, but lets look at the sentence again.
"Immigrants set up football club for their own kind.."

I see no mention of religion there. Do you?

Touchy? Nah, just pointing out something obvious.

Your suggesting that Celtic had an exclusion policy, they didnt. Celtic was setup to help the poor, who at the time were mainly the Irish immigrants in Scotland because of a socio-political situation driven by religious division. Maybe you think that giving charity to people other than the poor is some sort of exclusion policy

You seemed confused so I was just pointing out which club had the exclusion policy and it wasnt for any admirable reason.

    No, no I didn't.
Let's look at that sentence again Dempsey.

It's interesting how you proclaim the "Irishness" of Celtic, when it comes to certain supporters habits, yet a throwaway comment about how Celtic, at the very start of their history, was basically a club which catered mainly to Irish immigrants causes you to get your knickers in a twist.

    Very strange indeed.

    I do what now?

The irony of you saying I've my knickers in a twist! Yours has been twisted for years going by some of your posts on this forum:pac:

CELTIC (4-4-2) Forster; Lustig, Wilson, Ambrose, Izaguirre; McCourt, Brown, Ledley, Commons; Samaras, Hooper

Subs: Zaluska, Gershon, Rogic, Atajic, Stokes, Fisher, McGeouch

McCourts last game, should have happened been long before now. This game would have been more interesting if more of the bench players were involved.

    1-0 Commons FK

    EDIT

    2-0 Samaras

    EDIT

    3-0 Samaras

    EDIT

    4-0 Stokes

What a bitter little man you are. If they do make the movie, there's nobody forcing you to watch it you know.

If the movie is well made I'm sure it will be a success with moviegoers and not just Celtic supporters because it's a pretty good story - no doubt about it.

What about any of that makes me bitter?
Should I be falling over myself to go and watch an unmade film about a football club that I dislike? Seems a bit odd that attitude.

Is it because I pointed out that there are teams all over the world, throughout footballing history, of all shapes and sizes that have been set up by immigrants, generally as a way, initially, of getting people together who are of similar roots?
Football at its roots is a social sport no?

Now you run along and mind that chip on your shoulder pal. Not everyone loves your club, and they shouldn't need to massage your inferiority complex either.

Really, is that the best you can do?
Nothing that actually adds to the conversation?

Or were you just stuck on the bitter theme?
