Murray's contract situation has been unclear this season. Absolutely he meets the ridiculous IRFU standards for the new central contract "must be a guaranteed starter for Ireland" (wtf? Especially as Trimble has just gotten a new one).

The ball handling hooker blog post on Munster contracts http://ballhandlinghooker.blogspot.ie/2013/04/munster-contracts.html had Murray down as an unknown for most of the season but has been recently updated to show expiry in June of this year.

Can't see him going anywhere else but at the same time I'd sleep easier knowing he was secured by Munster well into the future.

Murray and Sexton lining as half backs for Racing Metro next season? :/

The very concept of having to be a 'guaranteed starter' to get a central contract is nonsensical. There should be no such thing!

Ah that's precisely it, the IRFU released a statement a few weeks ago on Central Contracts (they are reducing the number substantially) and said one of the new pre-requisites was to be a guaranteed starter. Of course there should be absolutely no such thing. The same organisation then gave Andrew Trimble a central contract - when was the last time he started for Ireland? Far far from guaranteed.

I think it's a wait & see policy from Munster, they will of course offer a contract, but they are waiting for him to be offered a central contract. If he is offered one, it allows the Munster hierarchy a little more money to offer a NIQ player to come to the club.

Don't know if it was mentioned, but members from the Munster team carried Donal Walsh's coffin yesterday. A lovely touch, which I'm sure was very appreciated by his family. Fair play to the lads.

When do Munster and Connacht finish up training for the summer. I would have thought that with the season over people would have started their offseason. Or do they keep training until the squads for America and Georgia have been anounced?
