In the bar - on draught.

Oh wow. That is good value! Must try it.

Had a bottle of Coco Psycho last night and loved it. Didn't have a strong, overpowering taste of alcohol that I get of some Imperial Stouts, but just a sweet chocolate/vanilla taste balanced out by a bitter coffee aftertaste. Will definitely be picking up some more of it before it disappears.

Also had Mahon Falls Rye Pale Ale and wasn't impressed. After this and Ruthless Rye, I think rye based beers are just not for me.

Managed to pick up a few bottles of Kindred Spirit, which I'll have over the weekend, and I was delighted to find bottles of Ochtoberfest in Bradley's. And some people thought I was mad to demand that Ochtoberfest be available out of season!

I'd imagine it was just a bottle left over from the last batch tbh.

The difference between Mahon Falls and Ruthless is like night and day.

Mahon Falls is a bitter mess, while Ruthless is a complex, tasty tipple.

Planning some Punk IPA cans plus these two; "Mythique" a blonde beer (7.5%) from France and "Rogue Juniper Pale ale" from the US.

I've had 3 Rye Ales recently (the 2 you've mentioned and the Chateau Rogue Rye) and they've all been worlds apart. Incindently, the only one that had any discernible taste of Rye was the Rogue, it wasn't great though. The Ruthless is the best of the bunch by a long shot imo.

You can definitely taste the Rye in the finish of the Ruthless, imo. There is definitely a peppery or spicey flavour there, without a doubt.

I found it took the edge off the hop bitterness, and for that reason I actually liked it - I'm not a fan of many other IPAs.

Yeah, I thought that myself when I saw it. Reckon they came in with the Kindred Spirit delivery.

It's lovely stuff!, I normally have the sparkling ale (red label) my brother tells me they roll it or tip it upside down then serve it in oz, it's makes it cloudy as hell though, takes a bit of getting used to!

Very tasty drink indeed. Must try the sparkling one at some stage.

Would like to try that again but hate buying hoppy beers if they don't have any brew date listed.

Had To Ol dangerously close to stupid, was nice, but not as good as I was hoping for. On the DIPA note, having Nogne's Two Captains, tastes bit flat and definitely not feeling that harshness/bitterness from a DIPA. Really smells of weed. Drank Mikkellers Arh Hvad, a Belgian Pale ale made with Brett yeast, one of the best beers I've had lately. Are there any other beers out there that use Brett(Mikkeller Gyspy tears does and I loved that)?

Really wanted to try Nognes Sunturn brew, but 20euro a bottle is crazy !

Had the Black IPA that was in the Black Sheep this evening. Can't remember the name. Anyone know?

It was nice but not as nice as Thornebridge Raven (My main other one of the style to compare against).

It had a nice roasted malt flavour at the start and an ok hop finish but the jump between the two wasn't handled as well as the thornebrige. Still nice and I do like the stlye.

I'm pretty sure I like everything I try by Goose Island. I still really want another one of their Bourbon County Stouts, but I'll wait for a special occasion, it's pricey.

Just had this beer, not to my liking at all - a bit too fruity for me.
    (Thanks for the tip anyway)

Orval and a load of other Belgian beers.

Infact Arh Hvad is Mikkellers "homage" to Orval, it's roughly pronounced the same way in Danish.

Busy buachaill sending these around the country in work today.
    Only bottled about 12hrs ago.
Delicious chocolately coffee taste with a smooth whiskey/sherry finish and nose.
    Very enjoyable.
Available in Cork @ galvins carry out bandon road (now), douglas and carrigaline(soon)
Number 21 coburg st, and midlelton

I know a good few cases went to dublin's better off liceneces today so should be on the shelves there

Hopefully a few more places over the next few days, stock is ridiculously scarce.
€2.99 and well worth it, Great to have another great 8 degrees limited edition out, they are really excelling themselves with them imo.

Hearing rumours of another limited edition whiskey stout being brought out by another Irish brewery very soon, will post when I know more

No other way to describe it; Amazing beer, absolutely awesome.

Drinkstore said they'd keep me a few bottles. Heading in tomorrow after an exam to pick up a dozen. Ill let you know what the stocks like but hopefully still good.
Chap in drinkstore said he'd be shocked if it shifted in 3 days.

    Hi, where is Drinkstore?

    Manor st/stoneybatter.
    It's near l. Mulligan grocer.
It's like heaven in the place. Always end up buying way more than anticipated. If you can't make it to them they do delivery around dublin for a 5er I think.

It's a lager though. There's very few that are special.
It'll do we'll though because its nicer than the other lagers on the market so will chip away at it. It only needs a tiny share of the lager market in Ireland to be sustainable.
