My trip to the brown thomas of retro games turned out to not be a devoid of anything worth buying. Picked up UN Squadron for a tenner.

    Very solid shooter!

Is it a PAL copy? *spits*

Yeah I like UN Squadron...come on though there's no excuse now to be mingling with the 50Hz peasants Retr0...you've a 60Hz Snes man! :P

This also just arrived in the late morning post. The envelope it came in had some 'Opened by An Post customs for inspection' package tape on it.

The hunt continues for the DoDonpachi Professional tapes. Those are not made by Gamest though and are even harder to find. :(

Oh well, this completes my set of DoDonpachi VHS tapes at least! :)

    Excellent!

Have you a high end VHS player for watching these? I'd be terrified the old tech would chew them up!

Yep. I use a Sony SVO-1500P Professional system. That's hooked up to a Pioneer DVR as a comb filter passthru before hitting the scaler for some DVDO jiggery pokery to be added to it and upscaled to sexually explicit 720p or 1080p.

Same applies for the Laserdisc superplay titles in the collection. :)

I'm trying to buy a 'VHS tape rewinder'. It's a specific device built solely for rewinding tapes (obviously!). I learned my lesson with one of my Salamander anime tapes which broke off the spool when I rewound it. It was super fiddly to mount it back, but thankfully it's restored to it's glory.

It runs 60Hz on the US SNES. Got to love Capcom and Konami not giving a **** about PAL translations :)

Played it for 2 hours last night, still a great shooter other than that prick of a boss in the cave.

    Got these few bits yesterday,
First up 2 Egret2 marquess from Spectre on AO

    2013-05-08%252021.18.52.jpg

    Ibara and DoDonPachi Dai-Ou-Jou,
I havent played the latter game but tought the art was funny with the mad juggy bird!

The next one up I got on adverts last night.
I have to say Im super happy with!

    2013-05-09%252000.25.12.jpg

Its a blackglass for a Rolling Stones pinball machine!
Small bit of peeling at Jaggers legs but otherwise fine.
    Going to get it framed.
I paid big bucks for it!10e!

As you can see its massive!
Closest I'll get to owing a pin this year anyway!

Nice stuff! Except that isn't DoDonpachi Daioujou, it's DoDonpachi Saidaioujou. Looks like a marquee made from a toresetsu? Spectre is 110% though so I bet it looks even awesomererer in real life!

Can't go wrong with a bit of Ibara either. Wish I had the art set to go with my PCB, nobody ever seems to make frankenkits for it though. :(

    Ha Pyongyang,
I knew someone would know better!
I think spectre has made that art for someone else I just picked it off his list.

Well, if you end up buying DDPSDOJ for the XBOX360, or if your job description involves you having to wear a crown, you buy the full arcade kit, you'll be able to use it then! :D

Spectre's marquees are renowned for being rather ace. Nice stuff sir. :)

Can't wait for my marquees to arrive. I ordered nine but they were delayed due to the printer forgetting to print one of then. They shipped at the end of last week.

Final Fantasy Legend arrived today. I took a chance on buy it now with no pic of the cart and in 'acceptable' condition. Turned up with a bit of dirty sticker residue on it that can be easily removed.

Have something else waiting in the post office for me as well.

Not very retro but for anyone who buys newer stuff too, all the xtra visions that are closing are doing half price on the marked prices on second hand games.

So if its marked at a €10 you get it for €5 for example.

Considering it'll be a long while before I update to the new xbox / playstation I'm going to stock up on titles I've missed.

Prices below are after including the discount:

    Dead Rising 2 - €7.50
    Bulletstorm - €7.50
    Ace Combat Assault - €5
    Aliens Colonial Marines - €17.50
Deus Ex human revolution - €5
    Fear 3 - €7.50
    Resident Evil 5 - €2.50
    Vanquish - €7.50
    Rage - €5
    Castlevania - €5
So in total €70 quid in total for 10 games.

Probably a couple of those I wouldnt have bought only that I had a voucher to pay for them that I wanted to use up before they go all HMV on them!

You don't have a suitable marquee holder and cab ;-)

Oh really? Are they cut to a specific cab marquee shape?

I went down for a browse to the local one there. I knew there was 50% off the marked price, but browsing for over ten mins & not one of the two staff members thought it a good idea to mention the discount to me. Also, a used Heavy Rain for €29.99...seriously? Now back to internet bargain shopping, where were we...

Popped into Retropolis and picked up Rolan's Curse, looks like a fun zelda clone for the gameboy. Had never heard of it previously.

Also he has a PC copy of In the Hunt there in a box if there's any in the hunt fans.

Standard CAVE Marquees are A4, for the move strips you need a bigger printer .

Ah, so we are only buying items that can be snuck in, in ones trouser pocket.
While big box pc games go unbought.
The Eye of Saurons' gaze is piercing...
On a brighter note, you collection of Gameboy, Game gear and DS games will improve!

Just received that 32GB card from Hong Kong for my Vita. It's an official one and is working fine. Have nearly filled it with all my american games :)

What was the damage on that?
The prices for those are extraordinary.
Trying to find something to buy for the console now, saddened by the tragedy that is Ridge Racer.
Games to buy are Lumines, Wipeout, Gravity Rush (a physical copy) and I'm running out after that.
I mean, as well received as Most Wanted is, do I really want it on the Vita when I can have it on the 360 for the same money.

That was the one I got, cheapest I could find. Still a rip off. The sooner the better SanDisk start making copies.

I needed one since most of my games are on my US account. You need a memory card for each account.

All 3 of those were on PSN Plus depending on when you joined up.
Sine Mora is also currently free and is great.

Guacamelee is being very well recieved, it's a Metroidvania style game.
The Uncharted game is, well, more Uncharted.
Persona 4 if you haven't played it yet.
    LBP is rather good.
Everybodys Golf is a golf game, but it's a very good golf game at that!
Disgaea 3 is a port but it's a cracking game.

Enjoyable game that, though the way the different endings are used just frustrated me beyond belief & didn't seem all that intuituive
