Picked up a PSP during the week, it's crazy new looking and much lighter than the one I have (it's like the difference in a brick and a feather), very happy with it.
Also picked up Astro Boy on DVD, Deathsmiles OST (for 50p) and Mega Man Network Transmission

Bought this today for 15quid off adverts. Was incredibly skeptical because of prior home steering wheel use and because this one was so cheap but I have to say it's spot on.
Bought it specifically for Ferrari 355 on PS2 and it worked grand.

    So now..
I have my namco stick for fighting and schumps.
I have my namco gun for shooting games and to finish my home arcade room I have a steering wheel with my favorite car game of all time after sega rally that is.

Anyway enough talk, here it is..

My last purchases for a while.

Finally got an official megadrive 6 button controller. Got it from Retropolis, delighted with it.

Also got the Castlevania game everyone hates, Castlevania Adventure. I'm probably the only person in the world that actually likes it.

It's Castlevania. It's on the Gameboy. Enough said really.

Don't be too dismissive, the second game Belmont's Revenge is superb.

The music is even better than Adventure's as well:

Castlevania Adventure is a total agonyfest, the jumps are hideous, even the simplest level is made impossible by having to be pxel perfect when landing.

Oh I know, I can understand why everyone hates it but I played it so much when I was a kid that I ended up getting good at it and actually enjoying it :) It definitely deserves the hate thrown at it. Thank god the sequel is so much better.

    Wait.
I love gameboy and I love castlevania so a combo can't go wrong in my book.
Rented that game when I was younger for 20p a night and enjoyed it because it was my own money.
Gameboy and the game catalogue was my introduction to gaming. Marioland, Dynablaster, Megaman Wily's Revenge, Tetris etc. bliss.

Just got a very solid and heavy LCD panel from Kerbdog, it's about 25" and 4:3, has VGA, S-Video and Comp inputs, played a bit of the DC on it via the VGA cable and Under Defeat looks great, plus it's really easy to tate!
Any ideas whether it's a good thing to have in a retrogames cave, I know the prevailing feeling about LCD panels is poor but this is actually quite nice, and has a very wide viewing angle as well.

I'd hold onto it unless you've zero space for it. I'm sure there's plenty of consoles that will look decent on it. Down the line you could always get a scanline generator if you're bothered.

Just got this from Kerbdog, thanks man, I'll wear it in the rain with pride!

Not games related, but I know some of you guys appreciate a good bit of violent comic death art... as well as my stalking of famous people .:pac:

So I thought I'd chance my arm and email one of my favourite artists to see if he had anything for sale - sent him an email and hoped for the best.

He emailed me back! And to my absolute delight, he had amazing pages for sale (at crazy cheap prices). One particular Judge Dredd page I really loved from the 80s.

Ninja star AND boot knife action. What more could you ask for :D

Bit more games related (!) my mam picked this lot up in a recycling plant for free.

Really strange as I've been looking to buy Luigi's Mansion for the GC lately.

Pikmin 2 was in the Pikmin box. Lucky as I already have Pikmin but not the sequel.

My son is just about finished Luigis Mansion, getting a bit stuck on King Boo, but it just goes to show what a great great game it is.
I think many had a crack at it at the last Beers in mine.
An example of an underappreciated launch title turning out to be the classic all the other consoles would have cried out for.
I have Luigis Mansion 2 stashed away for my sons 10th birthday next month, I think he'll be pleased!
Now to get him his own 3DS.... or I get an XL and let him look after my one!

The art is breathtaking, well done.
I still lament some moron girls in my nursing class writing, in pencil, on my signed Bisley print, otherwise I might have sold it on.

It's Cam Kennedy :). This page is from The Wardlord story in 1986. Prog 455 to be exact! He was saying to me that it's in really lovely condition. Can't wait to ogle it in person.

Bisley artwork is indeed amazing. My favourite of his were the black and white ABC Warriors/Black hole strips. Crazy to think it was his first ever comic commission

Only have a couple of little drawings by him at the moment...too expensive to buy his published art. Well, any of the pages I'd want.

Hah! Brilliant! I was much the same myself. There's a suitcase full of drawings I did when I was a similar age in my parents attic. I'm far too afraid to revisit it :D

    All mine are around somewhere.
Of course since I've been painting the walls are covered with mushrooms and whatnot in my place, and happily many are now hanging on buyers walls as well!

Ah yes, that was during my cave painting days, mammoth for breakfast, a bit of painting in a cave in the afternoon, mammoth for dinner, attempt to do some evolving in the evening, mammoth for supper and then smack the girlfriend on the noggin with my club and it's back to mine....
    Good times!

We played DinoRex for real back them, Screechy was a b@st@rd!

Been wearing it out and about for the last two days but I've had no looks of recognition so far.

I'm very tempted to expand the skit from my video though and head into Dublin some weekend asking people questions from Shenmue to see what the reaction is. :-P

    €44.49. Not bad at all!

I do indeed have a G-Net. Hasn't had any use though as the only game I had for it was vertical until this one.
