Can anyone join in the LGBTQ Pride Festival parade and express their sexuality?

I've know quite a few people who march in Pride parades and aren't LGBT, they do it to support the LGBT community and because they believe in what the parade represents.

Excellent. Can I bring my "I'm straight BTW" banner with me. I don't want my friends seeing me on TV and getting the wrong idea!

So you want to be there just in spite of gay people? Nice

Well the cemetery thing appears to be rare in nature and it's not the entire cemetery or anything. One does not have to be gay to participate in a gay pride parade or gay Olympics. The latter being far more inclusive than the actual Olympics. So really these "militant gays' should be applauded as they're a hell of a lot more progressive than yourself. Nicely created imaginary militant gene BTW.
In what way are they more progressive than me when I support integration, normalisation and co-existance of sexuality and they support labelling, pigeon-holing and separating sexuality.
Burying people in seperate parts of the cemetary due to their sexual preference, is the stuff of intolerant, bigotted people....but hey, according to you Im the dinosaur for opposing it.
Imagine if it was Christians calling for sexual Apartheid in the graveyard???
    There'd be murder.
But gay extremist hipsters call for it and it's fine.

You're just being really odd. In Copenhagen a group reserved 36 places, so they could be buried alongside other people who are gay. Anyone could do that. There's graveyards specifically dedicated to individual causes all the time; WW2 etc. I'm having trouble finding any other cases. I suspect you have blown this entirely out of proportion unless you can provide further cases of such 'atrocities'. There explanation for it seems fair.
The area the group has booked is separated from the rest of the cemetery by a large triangle of pebbles on the ground, with a massive rock placed on one of the angles.

"The triangle is our old symbol, but it is also a sign of suffering," Larsen said, recalling that the Nazis forced homosexuals to wear a pink triangle.

The rainbow flag, a universal symbol for homosexuals representing diversity, will be placed on the rock, he added.

"We don't want to isolate ourselves but we also feel a need to be together. We see this as a family grave, one that will be taken care of by our family," said Larsen.

Also some further points on your objections to the so called militant gays(updated to gay extremist hipsters). You believe pride festivals to be outdated however I would view it to be a sign of respect of those who are suffering now because of how they are treated. It would require you to ignore the fact that people are killed across the world because they are gay.

So dressing up in drag, camping it up, and attempting to salsa dance (...badly) is all about raising awareness of homophobic murders in far flung countries??
I saw a photo of a participant (scorned butch, lesbian, angry feminist type)at the Belfast Pride Rally with a placard saying "Jesus was a FAG!!"
Do you see that as conducive to preventing homophobia in traditional Christian or Muslim communities??

Are you honestly trying to say that traditional Christian or Muslim countries would be havens of acceptance for homosexuals if it weren't for the uppity gays making trouble and bringing it on themselves?

And I salsa dance fukking awesome by the way.

Do people even stop to think before making such enormous, sweeping generalisations based on photos? Seriously. It's happened multiple times now, and it's laughable in the most depressing way.

Which question? The OP asked about 30 questions

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

I dont know if it's a man or a woman tbh.

See, the thing is, you can't tell, while others don't care. That's the main difference here.

And he had two Dads and a Mother. According to the Iona institute he was not raised in the best way possible.

Which question? The OP asked about 30 questions

    Ha, true enough.

What I'm getting at is that we've had a bunch of posters insisting in different ways that the need for Pride style stuff was done. Ie - that the day when gay people were treated as, basically, "broken straight people" was done, and that it was time for the homos to pack up their campaignin' tack and shut up.

And then we have that prince of a poster thinking that describing somebody as a "scorned butch, lesbian, angry feminist type" without any even distant, academic sense of self-awareness whatsoever.

I don't know if "Irony" is the word for it, but there's definitely something just marvellous happening in that right there.

Yes, lets call Jesus a faggo-t.
    That'll win respect.
That placard and the thing holding it is simply obnoxious attention whoring.

Your search was 'belfast gay pride jesus was a fag' yet you still only got one result that was in any way like that. In fact all the other images had nothing to do with it. Surprised that you didn't manage to find this lovely protest at the event that strikes me as a lot more serious than one woman with a controversial sign.

So you can mock the person in the photo, but people can't joke about Jesus in an obviously non-serious way? I'm sure he's big enough to take it (oo-er missus!).

Anyway, I've never made jokes for respect.

    I make them for thanks.

    What's your point?

I don't get why in discussions of LGBT issues, people are insistent on pointing out a photo of someone with a stupid placard, or an old news article of one gay man in some country somewhere who did something bad. Therefore waheeeey this justifies not providing for LGBT rights

It would be like me posting a thread on why I feel straight people shouldn't have rights to marriage and post up a bunch of divorce statistics or links to celebrity cheating stories. Or why straight people shouldn't have basic rights at all, based on the amount of wars started by straight people, murders, rapes etc.

The onus is not on me as a bisexual woman, or as 1ZRed as a gay man or anybody else to babysit anybody who is LGBT and make sure they act 100% according to you. If they're dícks, they're dícks. Doesn't mean we don't deserve equal rights.
