Never thought I would go to a musical but went to Calamity Jane last year. Great show and one of the most enjoyable nights I ever had.

I've been to a few local productions, nothing big cause I wouldn't pay for it. Even hate watching film musicals, they just make me want to shoot myself in the face, really not my thing.

Wicked, Hairspray, Legally Blonde, Miss Saigon.

The Wicked soundtrack is amazing, I used to play it non stop in my car until my sister took it and hid it :o

Going to see the Lion King and Wicked this year, I love musicals.
I have seen The Phantom of the Opera and We Will Rock you in London and seen Chicago in Dublin.

Ah, musicals are among my favourite things in the world. From what I can remember off the top of my head, between the West End and Broadway I've seen:

Wicked x3, Billy Elliot, Les Misérables, The Phantom of the Opera, La Cage aux Folles, Singin' in the Rain, Matilda, Mary Poppins, The Lion King, Avenue Q, Dirty Dancing, Oliver!, Legally Blonde x2, The Producers x2, Blood Brothers, We Will Rock You, Betty Blue Eyes, Jersey Boys, The Wizard of Oz, End of the Rainbow, Grease and Priscilla, Queen of the Desert

I'm sure I'm probably forgetting some. Will be seeing another this weekend but as yet undecided.

Lived in NY for quite a few years and everyone who came to visit wanted to see Cats (the worst show ever produced but played for something like 18 years on Broadway!) So I can claim to have slept through about 10 shows at about 50 dollars a pop:mad:
Got to see a lot of great shows besides that tho. Miss Saigon, Blood Bros(with the Cassidy Bros and Petula Clark) and believe it or not Beauty and the Beast was unbelievable!

I haven't been to any theatre at all since seeing Hamlet with school. Really want to start going, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Yikes! What are you waiting for man? Get out there, it only costs the price of a ticket. I was a bit like you and had wasted years just thinking about it. Now I can't possibly imagine my life without the theatre and go a minimum of twice per week to plays or musicals and another two nights to live gigs.

(Living in London so this is easy for me, but) so far have sat 15 feet away from the likes of Judy Dench, Helen Mirren, Jude Law, Rupert Everett, Kevin Spacey, Danny DeVito, Gillian Anderson, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellan, Rowan Atkinson, James McAvoy, Keira Knightley, and to be honest way more than I can think of off the top of my head right now. Every single one of them put in some stunning performances in rooms smaller than some cinemas.

I could probably come back in an hour and name another dozen high quality actors, but I think you get the idea already.

The expense is exaggerated. I mean granted it ain't cheap but you'd spend more over the same number of hours in some sh!te pub drinking sh!te quality beer watching sh!te on sky sports. Get yourself to the theatre man, you'll never look back!

Saw Blood Brothers 8 or 9 years ago as part of a school trip, it was alright, haven't been to any since and I don't have any desire to go to another.

Yeah, Jeff Waynes War of the Worlds is great. I'm not sure if its similar to other musicals though, less acting more music.

I saw the Rocky Horror Show in 1974 at the New Arts Cinema Glebe/Balmain, Sydney Au

Liking musicals says nothing about your sexual orientation, however it does say a lot about your taste (or, lack there of).

I was forced to sit through Mama Mia once! I still have nightmares!

Nope. Never have and hopefully never will. From seeing musical movies it is just not my thing, but each to their own.

Nope. Musicals would be the deepest level of hell for me to sit through.

Many worry about Artificial Intelligence. I worry far more about Organic Idiocy.

Utterly, utterly, utterly hate musicals. Had to sit through a load of them in school because students would be doing yet another rendition of Grease or something.

There's a certain type of dread during the dialogue, like waiting for a bomb to go off, when you know one of the characters is going to say something that will trigger off a ridiculously long song.

Character #1: "Hey, how much money do we have left?"

Character #2: "Let me count what I have.................one.........................two................................AND-A ONE, TWO, THREE!!!!...................

*People come out of nowhere, everyone is clicking fingers*

Everyone: "Money, money, money..................ooooooooohhhh, AAAAAAHHHHHHHH...................money, money, money"

    Me: "Oh, for fùck sake......."

I went to one in broadway, I thought "sure, why not?". That got answered fairly quickly I can tell you.

Have seen a few on Broadway including Wicked. You can't but be impressed when you see monkeys flying over your head (and sober too I was), thought it was great so must try to see it when it comes to Dublin. I also went The Pirate Queen before they shut it down. That was a load of cack and it didn't help I was sitting beside Rosie O Donnell who was jibber-jabbering all the way through it.

Seen Avenue Q in New York too and went to see it in the Bord Gais Theatre too. Definitely one for people to say they don't like Musicals. Snappy songs too.....

Cats would be the weirdest I've seen. Best was Tanz der Vampir in Vienna, German musical based on Roman Polanskis film. Recommend it to anyone who's visiting Vienna.

I saw Mama Mia live in The Point with my school when I was a teenager. I enjoyed it.

Went to the Phantom of the Opera in Cape Town Opera house... actually enjoyed it

Saw Chicago on Broadway a few years ago. was pretty decent

I was at Lion King on Saturday. A-mazing! Came home and bought tickets for Wicked later in the year. Ive also been to Dirty Dancing (cheese fest but could appreciate the talent) and We will Rock You (also brilliant). I loved the Les Mis movie too and would go see it if it was in Ireland. Each to their own.

The missus twisted my arm to see one in London a couple of years ago. She wanted to see Lion King but ended up seeing Phantom of the Opera. Was very impressed given I really didnt want to be there

Real life turning into a musical is one of my deepest fears. People singing instead of talking is the most horrendous kind of nightmare I can imagine.

I've seen Hairspray, Avenue Q and Billy Elliott when I was in London. They were all absolutely brilliant but I think Hairspray was my favourite. Such a huge production and the case were so enthuasiastic for a team that had to perform the show at least twice a day for a few months in a row!

saw The Producers and Phantom on Broadway, both brilliant.
Saw Dirty Dancing (cos the missus wanted to;)) on the West End, again it was a great show in fairness.

And that is exactly why I love musicals!!!!!!!!!
