It's only ten Airdrie are not resigning but were at the meeting.
Do we will have an SPL and a Championship two teams will be invited in to the latter. Take from that what you will

    The cash cow blueprint
"The Rangers fans will stick by the club and support us in their thousands, but only if they can see that there is progression.

"Right now, many questions are being asked about what is really happening at the club, and the biggest concern seems to be the style of football and coaching theory.

"With the fans on board, and a transparent policy of how their cash is being reinvested into player development, they will continue to pay. Rangers have an amazing opportunity to use the huge fan base and ask them to spend on products and services that will ultimately benefit Rangers.

"However, fans will only pay if they are happy with the on-field activities, and right now the majority of fans are not happy. There is a big risk that if the current coaching regime remains, then fans will stop coming and we will see half of the season ticket sales we had this season.

"Change is required... and this starts with a big decision."

Hopefully we have brown envelope ready for ref to do his job right ;-)

Are the people who run Rangers completly insane or just sort of mental?

    http://rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/item/3907-bbc-banned-by-club

Its just one thing after another on that club site :D
RANGERS Football Club can confirm the BBC is no longer welcome at Ibrox Stadium or Murray Park.

The club asked BBC journalists to leave the stadium ahead of today's Division Three title party against Berwick Rangers.
Rangers Director of Communications James Traynor said: "We are aware of our contractual obligations but we also have to be aware of our duty to protect the players, manager and supporters against reporting which lacks logic, balance and fairness."

    Hilarious

What's so bad about it ?

Should have been done a lot earlier, the BBC in Scotland are simply incapable of reporting in a neutral manner when Rangers are concerned

Btw, remember Hugh Keevins being banned from Celtic Park ?

edit: The 'Vision for Rangers' document was not the actual reason I think, it was just the last straw in a long line of stunts by BBC Scotland. They reported it as some sort of secret plan by Green, while all it was was an unsolicited idea by an investor.

A rumor is that Rangers, while investigating who is leaking all these documents (I've heard it's an ex-employee) asked the BBC to give them this information. They refused, so Rangers decided to ban them.
Also, it was only Chris McLaughlin who was asked to leave, Chick Young could stay.

alec thomsen did a nice article on this yesterday.

your calling reporting a factual story a stunt and rangers know better than to ask a reporter to give up a source.

I think this practice is used to control/censure the media. in some cases I believe it can be appropriate but its definately not the case here.

surely you want the truth to come out, why are defending the club? this practice of controlling the media was a contributing factor to your club being liquidated!

Big bad Rangers trying to censure the media, who are only trying to report fairly and unbiased :(

I will repeat my question: Remember Hugh Keevins being banned at Celtic ?

But it's clear you didn't read my post, since the way they reported it isn't factual at all, something they would have known if they would have contacted Rangers.

    So that leaves two options:

    1. They did contact Rangers and decided to go with their own view of things.
    2. They didn't contact Rangers and just printed something without checking it.

Neither of which sound like good journalism to me.

Thomson's article completely misses the point (I know, shocking), tries to make people feel sorry that 'their BBC' is being banned.
Instead of asking questions with regards to why a publicly funded organisation chooses to report news in biased and unprofessional way.

Anyway, I haven't got a clue why Celtic fans would get so upset about this.

well done on missing the point, no surprise you blindly support your club again

You're the one missing the point, and spectacularly might I add.

No surprise you blindly support Thomson again.

But I'm quite happy that this seems to annoy you tremendously.

edit: @BBCchrismclaug Helo Chris, I am Nigerian Genral and diplmat. I send you 1,000,000 doller US CASH if you publish my plan RANGERS.

    :D

As for what I said earlier, seems like the always impartial and professional BBC went with option 2.

my opinion actually doesnt agree with thomson if you actually read the article so youve made a wrong assumption there.

doesnt annoy me really but you defending things blindly is getting tiresome though

You coming in here in some attempt to provoke a response even more so.

Not that it will stop you in the future.

edit: I just read back on your post, and there is no indication you disagree with Thomson.
On the contrary, 'alec thomsen did a nice article on this yesterday' seems to say otherwise.

You (and he) are completely missing the point that the BBC were supposedly reporting a factual story and were banned because Rangers didn't like it.
They didn't, they didn't even bother to check with Rangers what was true or not and just decided to run with it.

What did the BBC say that led to Rangers asking for them to leave the ground before the game?

They produced a 'Vision for Rangers' document, which they labeled as 'Green's secret plan'.

All in all it was a pretty positive document, full of ideas on how to change the club, the football philosophy, youth management,...

However, this had nothing to do with Green, it was leaked by an ex-employee (Imran Ahmad, it is being said) and the BBC never ran this by Rangers before publishing it.

It was a document created by a director of the club, unsolicited (so merely an idea).

Now, I don't like the fact they're giving this as a reason. They could have given plenty of previous examples which would have made far more sense, but all in all I can totally understand the club has had enough of their unprofessional reporting.

Was the prize for hitting the crossbar not £50,000, but everyone who entered were in the draw for £1,000,000??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,839 ✭✭✭Jelle1880

£50.000 if you hit it the first time (back in September), then £1m at the last home game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,623 ✭✭✭lubo_moravcik

Don't laugh but I'm confused. What was the actual prize and how could someone go about winning it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,623 ✭✭✭lubo_moravcik

The whole infrastructure of the club is so wrong.

A root and brach Reformation is the way to go.

A Protestant club for Protestant people is the only way to go.

    Quote me.

PS, having managers and coaches who pay attention to ball retention........

    would help.

    We know. ;)

The prize was exactly as outlined - if your name was drawn then you got the opportunity to try and hit the crossbar.
The first one was for 50k the end of season one was for 1m.
