ECU fried in the race car on Saturday, up to Joe Power with it this evening and he did some stuff, I just stood back and looked confused. He desoldered and soldered lots of the thingy yokies inside

    Ended up looking like this

    946730_10151439852597825_1893321670_n.jpg

We also redid the injector clips on the loom. I'm running RC Motorsport injectors and they come with their own connections so have to be soldered onto the loom, we suspect one of the old connections went bad and that's what caused the ECU to fry

    I know that. :)

    But:

    1. I'm not in hurry.

    2. The only day I can NCT my car is friday, so I rather prefer to choose myself. :D

At least they did it before you washed it. Washed mine and came out later to see it had been used for dive bombing practise again. They must love shiny black cars as it happens all the time.

Take a leaf out of pred racer's book. If you shoot them before they can take a dump, the others will soon get the message :P

On the topic... Looked like someone flicked paint at my car til I got up close, some bird had the squits all over the roof.... Bastards!

    Tomorrow

After a misty start to tomorrow, good sunny spells will develop by the afternoon with highest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees.

    thermostat?

Could be, I replaced the 'stat just recently and I didn't like the look of the new unit, didn't seem to be the right one, but motor factors persuaded me black and blue it's the right one.
That's a thermostat, airfilter and spark plugs I got off them that where wrong, guess where I won't be buying a clutch if I need one. No one wants their car on the lift, with the gearbox pulled out only to be told "it's the wrong clutch mate!"

Finally got around to getting 4 wheel bolts to replace the ****ty lock nuts. All was going well until I got to replacing the last one, and the bolt seems like its slightly stripped. Wont go into the hub. Tried the others in it and they were fine. Guess I'll have to go back with it so.

Changed the CV boots on my parents Liana today. First time ever changing CV boots. Yay me! :P No pictures though. Hands were too filthy to go messing with my phone and I just generally forgot :o Also changed the gearbox oil while I was at it

Stripped down the engine bay to remove the intake manifold and replace its seals as there was some oil residue around the swirl flaps. When I had the manifold out I could check the operation of the flap actuator and the condition of the EGR. Everything was in good condition and not half as gunked up as I thought... So a quick clean, and replacement of the twelve intake manifold seals and put it all back together! No lights on the dash and only missing my 8mm socket!

I removed and cleaned the EGR valve today for the first time ever. Wanted to see if I could cure a very slight hesitation on light throttle.

It want too gummed but needed a bit if a clean. Ill see over the next few days if it made any difference.

dgt, is that it! This is limp stuff by your standards. I'm not impressed at all. Fully expected to see a bore of a ships engine that you can walk into stripped to bits on your kitchen table. C'mon man, up the game. :-D

Nah, that's an ESB power station in the Midlands turning up the burner to make enough lekky to power dgt's search engine on the computer as he trawls the planet for second hand spares.
