I'm rooted on a HTC__001, no update. I guess I could look for the RUU, but I just wiped to unlock the bootloader and I don't want to start again, again. If that's what you're into well and good, but I have better things to do with my time.

What I meant is flash a custom ROM based on the latest available firmware. I'm currently on a 1.29.xxx.13 ROM, which is no doubt a later revision than what some people are waiting to receive.

What do you mean start again, again? I have flashed loads of ROM's on my one, haven't had to wipe my phone on any of these occasions, still have all my data intact.

Any Custom Rom like ARHD will be based on the latest update.

Backup personal data with the plethora of options on the play store.

Restore with a click of a button.

You have plenty of options if you dont want to wait for Three so you cant really complain.

I've never come across a backup solution that restores fully and completely, but feel free to recommend; waving a general hand at the Play Store is of no use to anyone. I'm not on Three, you're thinking of someone else.

Sorry, I use Go backup for personal data.

Flashing a custom Rom shouldn't touch your partition where Music and photos and apps are installed.

In the extreme case apps go missing with be reinstalled once you login to your google account and launch the play store.

You can Nandroid backup, which completely backs up your entire ROM in the exact state it is.

Titanium backup is far and away the best backup solution if you're rooted. Can back up all apps, texts etc, then restore to a fresh ROM

Quick Question lads. If I pick this up on Meteor hear in Ireland. I'm living in New York State and on the ATT network, would an Irish HTC One if Unlocked would on the the ATT LTE network?

Went to 4 stores over the last few days (Meteor and Carphone Warehouse on Henry St and Grafton St) who all told me "nowhere has them...none of our stores have them...nowhere in Europe has them" etc. Then I checked Meteor.ie and they were in stock, seems like they must have only had a tiny amount though as I ordered yesterday and got a call from Meteor asking me to make sure I sent them my proof of ID today as "they want premium phone buyers to make sure they get stock before it runs out" Their website is now saying they're out of stock again.

Strange that the Meteor shop told me "nowhere in Europe has them" when their own site had it.

Quote from myself on another thread yesterday.
This is also the 1st time I've heard anybody insinuate that phone sales staff know what there selling.

Heres my mini review of two cases I got from ebay

    Flip Case

Its made from cheapy fake leather. It doesn't feel terrible, just looks it really. That aide though it defintely feels like it offers a fair bit of protection to the phone from keys and falls, so it was a winner when I needed a cheap way to protect my phone fast. It also fits the case pretty well, nothings obscured and the phone isn't going to flop out of it, although using the volume buttons is a bitch. It also bulks up the phone a fair bit.

    Rubber Case

This one is pretty nice, its super snug so the phone still feels slim in it. Its grippy too so its easy to hold. Looks wise it obscures little in the front of the phone so it looks nice. When your looking at the rear you can just about make out the logs and such, looks OK. The volume buttons are easy to use but the power button is pretty stiff, not sure how well it works over the ir blaster too.
Protection wise though I think it doesn't offer much other than scratches on the rear of the phone and maybe a small bit of drop resistance, but its so tight it would say its little to none. The expansive front side of the phone is open to injury from keys or being dropped onto something sharp.

I was in a 3 store this evening and was told they would not have stock of the HTC one until 12th may! wtf. Disaster for HTC.
If that's true and with the S4 on sale tomorrow HTC are going to lose a lot of customers that would have been undecided on which phone to get.

Hi, the short answer is yes. Below are the technical specs of the international version Below are the network bands for you to compare. It's my understanding that for 3G the phone will be supported on both 1900 and 2100 for AT&T.

    2G/2.5G - GSM/GPRS/EDGE:
    850/900/1800/1900 MHz

    3G - UMTS/ HSPA:
Europe/ Middle East/ Africa: 900/1900/2100 MHz with HSDPA up to 42 Mbps
AT&T: 850/1900/2100 MHz with HSDPA up to 21 Mbps

    4G - LTE:
    Europe/ Middle East/ Africa: 800/1800/2600 MHz

only got the phone last night, coming from a galaxy s3, it feels great.

am having trouble setting up the tv remote app though, anyone else having problems.

Also, on the app drawer, is there a way to change the apps to scroll sideways inside of downwards??

I don't think sense offers that option here, just to change the number of icons in a row.

I've been using Next Launcher 3d, I paid 12€ for it though. It is really cool though.

is there anyway to quickly turn the phone on silent?
really finding it awkward having to go into settings all the time

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,992 ✭✭✭✭partyatmygaff

On the One X, holding volume down usually brings it to silent and then vibrate. It may be the same on the One.

Well the easiest way would be hold volume down on the rocker. All the way down will take you to vibrate, then one tap on vol up with go to silent.

You could use a widget too

Yep, this is the easiest way. Just put a widget (1x1) on one of your home screens.

Another poster suggested Power Toggles. It's a great app, use it all the time to switch on/off wifi, bluetooth, sound etc.

Is there any apps for changing the led notification colour?
I changed the colour in whatsapp but it still flashes green. I can't see any options to change the colour for mails, missed calls etc just the option to enable or disable led notifications

There is an app.on the marketplace, but the last couple of HTC phones came with dual color led instead of multi.

Light Flow is the name I think. But as I said might be due to hardware

Yeah, I think I tested light flow....couldn't get it to work.

All those apps are buggy anyway, would never work properly with my S3 or Note 2, and certain colours wouldn't be displayed properly

I use an app on my one s called quick sound change.

I have the phone a few days and I was using the Swpye text, but it disappeared last ght and reverted to the standard multi touch. I can't seem to change it back to swype. have tried settings-language and keyboard-sense input-trace keyboard but it still stays in multi touch.

Also, the stock music player. Does anyone know how to set it up so that when you go into an artist it just shows you the albums and the albums with all the songs from the album underneath?

And one more, anyone recommend an adaptor that can connect through the phones USB so it can read micro SD cards and make it HDMI?

The quickest way to set Swype as the default again is to uninstall and reinstall from the Play Store, saves arsing around in Settings.
