Probably because nail bombs were used which were used alot by the IRA, but they're not exclusively IRA anymore.... and these guys all train each other, so who knows at this stage.

In omagh by the RIRA, I don't believe it was often used by the provisionals.

its not that daft, there were IRA guys caught in colombia training FARC and the Libyans help trained the IRA and the PLO there is a network out there

3 members were suspected of being there but it wasn't substantiated on or any convictions made.

Gadaffi sent weapons to the provisionals, more of f*ck you to Britain. There was no formal training between Libya and the IRA.

The link between the PLO and the IRA was one based on sympathies to their causes. Again no real link other than the nonsense stories of the Armagh sniper reportedly being in Palestine a number of years ago.

This is all completely off topic though. It's irrelevant to the thread and talk of the CIRA, RIRA or ONH being involved is madness.

Bombers tend to bomb because they want to right a wrong and/or publicise a cause. It's odd that nobody has claimed responsibility to make their cause known.

Typically that's indicative of a serial bomber, but even they make contact at some stage.

How long does post take in the U.S? If the person/group is domestic they may have probably mailed on the day to a news agency in the area.

The IRA also got a lot of funding from Birmingham, Manchester and London. Does that justify the bomb attacks there? They paid for it (literally), so they deserve what they get?

Found this in relation to pressure cookers being used as IEDs. A similar setup used in the 2010 Times Square bombing.

In a very specific part of Boston. Southie 'Ra heads are not exactly the crowd that participates in, or attends the Boston Marathon. There is nothing ironic about it - it is just an excuse for the usual suspects to get a dig in, on par with the religious fundamentalists who will inevitably say the bombing was God's punishment for Massachusetts legalizing gay marriage (or other such nonsense).

every country does that. the british media did it when one of the kids from sandy hook had an english parent.
it probably just makes it hit home a bit more to some people.
