    Dutch & Swiss IOS App

There seems to be an app for IPad2/3 & iphone4/5 according to this article available to the Dutch and Swiss markets (noted elsewhere that this app will not work on Jailbroken devices) don't know if this would work for Irish devices though, probably not for TV but maybe for home network videos etc.

Link to article about it here http://www.appannie.com/app/ios/horizon-tv-remote/

p.s. does anyone know what the capacity of the hard drive is in the Horizon box?

Just downloaded the apps, they seem good and fluid but can't do much without having the box :p

As noted before, I can't find any way to remotely access recorded content / live tv from the box on any device I have at home. that was the main selling feature to me to be honest. Me being able to play xbox and have the other half watch TV on the laptop / iPad. Hope they get this out soon.
The installer mentioned something about this, can't remember what he called it (mytv, something like that) but to connect it you had to log on to My UPC, but can't find it there.....
It was one of many questions I forgot to ask before the installer left :o

It is exactly this: they want people talking about it, but all amongst themselves.
People talking up the excitement to try the box is exactly what they want to see.

See my last post. There are no Apps yet, and android isn't until later in the yaer. I was reading a forum from one of the other countries where people were saying the exact same thing. Android is now the most popular OS and because of this, from the translation, the agent admited it's been bumped up the development list. But these apps take time, 2 / 3 months to develops, so 2h 2013 is probably right.

As for DLNA, the box can see content (though it can't play all content) from other DLNA servers, but it is not a server so you can't see it's content on other DLNA devices.
I have Plex running and it's DLNA server is amazing, but Plex can't play anything off it. just FYI.
Android may be the most used mobile OS but because of all the different hardware configurations and screen resolutions its a nightmare to develop a decent app that is more than just a web page. You have to test it in different pieces of kit and then support it. Total pain in the ass

Again, as I said earlier, I told them I would be discussing it on boards, the didn't say I couldn't and I know they are aware of this thread.
The only mention of it being a secret was the original email and didn't say NEVER mention the box to anyone.
If you filled up the form online then you ticked the terms and conditions saying that you would not talk about it.

Have tried, just got the message that login is currently not possible

Just a few other questions, will you continue to receive the same package channels as you are currently subscribed to or will trialists get the full package?

Good point, never thought of that. .
Your old (D4A) box will keep on running until the end of the trial period and you decide to switch over to Horizon or return to your old subscription.

Should be mentioned in the policies...

It's the way we got it, anyone I know has it either works for UPC or knows someone who does in a management capacity.

I don't work for UPC and the someone I know told me that was the condition I would get it on.

    I dont...applied via Facebook

my mate applied two weeks ago and he was accepted on Friday, he said he got an email or something off them. he has his cable split inside the house to two boxes upstairs. I told him he'd want to get it sorted before the techies come around but he just shrugged his shoulders and said he'll just tell them it was like that already????

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 539 ✭✭✭iDann

Anyone have a idea what the reward is yet?

If they are 2 UPC boxes, then he is paying for them. Eitherway, the installers wont care. They will just connect up their kit to the main incoming cable.

Did he do that himself or did UPC do it? The boxes don't work unless the subscription card is in it anyway, so I assume he is paying for it...
