    Week 15 run 2 - Wednesday 27th March

had to changed session to Thur and did this nice and handy, on treadmill late last night

    9.43, 9.15, 9.13, 9.04, 9.02(.50)

    Total 4.50m in 41.49 @9.18

    Week 15, Run 3 - Thursday 28th March

    So the plan was 2m warm up, 1m @ MP with 2min rec x 5, 2m cooldown

This was on the treadmill as the kids are off and I had no-one to mind them and other half went to work at 6.30am and I don't do early morning running, i'm tied up this evening and it meant that I could keep the MP at the desired pace instead of going too fast..

    9.30, 9.12, 8.35, 8.30, 8.27, 8.33, 8.24, 9.16, 9.12, 9.20(.50)

Can't believe how close London is getting now. (Probably shouldn't say that to you:P) You getting excited?

Excited would not be not one of the feelings I have at the moment regarding London:eek:

Here's hoping that comes in the next week or so!!!:)

Hey there! Just popping in to say you've been doing some solid training with a super positive attitude!! Woo hoo!! Is it only 3 weeks for you?? Wow, how time flies by doesn't it?? At the beginning of a training plan the race seems a lifetime away, but then the closer the big day gets the faster it comes. Yikes!! But London should be no bother to you. Keep up all the fantastic work - from this point on it's just about sharpening your edge. ;):)

thanks Dory, ye it sure does sneek up on you...hope your excitement is building 2 weeks for you....you wont break 3.30...you''ll smash it:D:D, you training has gone so well and you are so dedicated!!!

    Week 15, Run 4 -Saturday 30th March
I missed my 20 rec yesterday as i had a migraine and had to take to my bed and i was a little worried about getting out for my run today. I had arranged to meet Skidrow, so when i got up at 7.30am and the head was reasonable ok and the vision had cleared, i decided i go for it and see what happened. Had the porridge, got ready and away i went.
Plan was 2hr15 min progression ending at HMP, i know i want to do 16 maybe 17m...

A beautiful sunny morning in the Phoenix park with a bit of heat in the sun, when you weren't caught in the wind but overall a fab day for running. We didn't pay too much attention to the pace but just chatted away as we ran. As usual in company the miles just flew by and we headed back to the cars at just over 11 m for a drink, i took a gel to help me finish out, and to see what the rest of the plan was. Skidrow is training for a Half so was planning to do 13 with me and then i'd finish off on my own so thats what we did. he left me a 13.1 with about 1.5m cooldown back to the car for him. He'll have no bother in his half!!
I contiuned on my way and i was feeling comfortable so just put the head down and finished out the run. ended up at 17m. Delighted with myself but a little voice in the back of my head keep saying try get one 20m in before London(that was LizzyC from the other side of the world telling me that);) so off i went on a 3m cooldown.:D

I am really delighted how the run went and that i was able to add the 3m in after and still feel like i could have added more. So definitely the psychological boost i needed and hopefully i haven't upset the training plan too much!!!:o

Overall some of the miles didn't progress in speed as much as probably should have but in the overall scheme of things allowing for hills, wind etc i was happy with how it went.

    Week 15, Run 5 -Sunday 31st March

Forgot to check the plan and assumed it was 7m as that's what the Saturday run has been for the last few weeks...but it was actually 6m:o

Anyway headed off into the sunshine this evening and it was lovely to have sunshine and daylight after 6pm, but there was no heat in the sunshine.. I was a block of ice by the time I got back, could have done with a second pair of leggings/baselayer on the bottom half on and a pair of gloves:eek:

I wanted to keep this nice and handy but I went by feel and didn't look at the watch until it beeped for each mile, mile 2 was a little on the fast side so I pulled it back a bit...quads were a little tight, but loosened out after a mile or so. Quads tightened up again after I finished but overall it was a nice relaxed run with no problems. miles 6 7 7 went up in pace again but it still felt easy so I just went with it!!

    9.19, 9.12, 9.24, 9.21, 9.32, 9.11, 9.00 9.58(.11)
    Total 7.11 in 1.06 @ 9.18

a good solid months training. delighted with how it went.

    Week 16, Run 1 - Tuesday 2nd April

    Total 4.20m in 39.24 @ 9.23

    Week 16, Run 2 - Wednesday 3rd April

So i have had a touch of a sore throat since last Sat evening and i have been aware of it without it giving me much trouble, but this morning i woke at 6.30 with what felt like a lump of broken glass in my throat..oh oh, my first thougts are of having to do my session, not about work or anything else:rolleyes:..so i head for the medician cabinet and take most of what there(well you know what i mean)...and head for work!!!!

As the morning passes, its still slightly sore and so i decide i'd head out for the run and see how i feel.

The first 2 miles were horrendous!!!! I feel tired, have sick tummy and i was struggling to get near MP, so i decide i'd give it one more mile and then maybe just swap it for an easy run and do it tomorrow. . .but then i warmed up :D:D and things clicked into place and i managed to finish the session, pretty much on target...the 10k mile being my most comfortable mile:cool:, i like that.....
    so stats are....
    9.24,
    (MP) 8.37, 8.24, 8.28,
    (HMP) 8.14, 8.07,

    Week 16, Run 4 - Friday 5th April

    Plan 20mins recovery
i took to the hills to keep this slow and i managed to enjoy the run and keep it more or less to the plan. I have to do this for the next 2 weeks:)

    Total 2.40 m @ 10.53 in 26.07

    Week 16, Run 5 - Saturday 6th April

    Plan 14m @ MP
The run started off sluggish but i expected this and dodn't worry too much about this. I seemd to settle in comfortably at about 8.40 - 8.45 and this was a little fast on some miles, depending on inclines/ wind.

I started to get a bit tired at mile 11, so i reached into my pocket for my HTFU but pulled out a gel instead so i just took it so that i could keep the pace at MP!!;)

So it would seem that my MP is about 8.40 ish so i'll take that and hope for the best on the day with hopefully a few faster mile in there.

I headed off and wasn't too sure if my kinda planned route would take me to 14m but as it turned out i just had to pass my Mams front door at 13.98:D and i got a round of applause...it was dark as i returned to base and my Mam just happend to come out to the gate to see if there was any sign of me and there i was coming round the corner...I had to laugh when i heard the clapping and it was nice:D

    8.40, 8.38, 8.39, 8.45, 8.41, 8.45, 8.38, 8.41, 8.36, 8.43, 8.34, 8.31, 8.29, 8.25

    Total 14.03m in 2:000:44 @ 8.36

    Week 16, Run 6 - Sunday 7th April

    Plan 6m V Easy
Ater sitting for 5 hrs at the swimming pool for the Community games, i was kinda looking forward to the fresh air for this run...evenign run and it was cold so i was glad of the ear muff and gloves and i never took them off as i was foing easy so didn't overheat.

I found the slow pace almost painful and it gradually increased slightly mile by mile but was still easy and comfortable. Quads slightly tight but overall legs in good nick!!!

I fellover the puppy as i was finishing, but thankfully managed to catch myself before any real damage was done, just hurt my arm!! PHEW!!
    9.38, 9.23, 9.21, 9.15, 9.10, 9.14, 11.06(.10)

yes but the taper was officially starting after that run so it was a bit scary that Bonnie knew this and had decided to run under my feet!!

I will have to lock the 2 dogs up (and the children) for the next two weeks:p

    Week 17 - Plan...nearly there

    Mon | Tues | Wed | Thur | Fri | Sat | Sun
    Rest/Pilates | 4m run| 1m w/u, 20 mins @ HMP, 1m c/d | 4m run | 20 mins Recovery | 80 mins Easy | 4m Easy

    Week 17, Run 1 – Tuesday 9th April

Out at lunch in the freezing cold day, for my lunch time run. Where’s the 8 – 11 degrees and sunshine we were told we would have??:(

My Body was feeling the effects of last nights Pilates class more than usual seeing as I hadn’t been there in 3 week, but to be honest I expected to be a lot worse.

Legs felt heavy at the start so I just ran on feel, watch was covered. End of mile 2 my breathing was getting a little heavy and I realised that I was taking short strides and it was starting to move out of feeling “easy”, so I lengthened my strides, making full use of these long limbs of mine  and it felt instantly easier. I felt like I was just gently gliding along.
I knew my loop was slightly longer than the required 4m but I didn’t fancy an out an back!!!

    9.16, 9.10, 9.14, 9.10, 9.19

    Total 4.31 @ 9.16 in 38.42

On an aside, I have gotten to the bottom of the dodgy stomach issues I have been having on and off for the past few weeks including yesterday & today…my work bottle of Caesar salad dressing is out of date…by about 6 weeks!!! ( a few others having beeing affected too cause i'm such a caring & sharing kinda gal):o

I have another couple of lbs off so since January I’ve managed to lose 1 st….now just to watch it over the next 10 days or so….. Oh and i wouldn't recommend out of date salad dressing as a tool for weight loss:eek::eek:
