Really what has this to do with football. As much as I detested her this is a football thread

As much as I detest Rangers Fans, this is a Celtic thread...;)

Thatcher was an enemy of football as well. Her attitude to the Hillsborough disaster typified her general disdain for elements of British society that she didn't care about. She was an extremely divisive figure. Maybe she didn't like football because back then it was deemed to be a working class game and part of British society, and among other things she was an enemy of the working class people - particularly in the North of England and Scotland and Wales - and of the notion of a society. She would have looked down her nose at your club and it's supporters and sneered at the British jingoism that was displayed from time to time.

Let's retain a bit of dignity and decency by keeping the thread to football. Off topic posts to be deleted and may incur disciplinary action.

Ninja edits lol... glad to know you still think highly of me. :p

As for your usual "I was only joking" get-out clause, maybe you were, it's hard to tell with you sometimes given the stuff you often come out with when you're being serious.

It's not a get out clause mate, doesn't bother me in the slightest if you can spot obvious jokes or actually think I was blaming the delay in fixtures on Freemasons in the SFA busy mourning Thatcher. I do believe sarcasm is one of the few things not forbidden by the hilarious charter on here.

Fixtures are out. The Masons* have made sure we won't even win the league ourselves with Motherwell playing at Tannadice before us. Oh and it's 5 midday kickoffs and finishing the league away from home. Great scheduling

v ICT Sunday 21st April (Parkhead)
v Motherwell, Sunday, April 28, KO: 12.45pm (Fir Park).
v Ross County, Sunday, May 5. KO: 12noon (Victoria Park)
v St Johnstone, Saturday, May 11. KO: 12.15pm (Parkhead)
v Dundee United, Sunday, May 19. KO: 12.45pm (Tannadice)

    *this is a joke

Disappointing to say the least. I was hoping for Motherwell at home for the first game after the split. Lets hope though we put on a real show against Inverness and win the league in style.

Well now that we know whats what with the league it is Cup semi-final time this weekend against Dundee United. One of the things I have noticed about them since Jackie McNamara took over is that he has clearly worked hard on making them much more difficult to break down. We have scored 12 goals against them in our 3 league meetings so far. But this one might well be a much tighter low scoring game. We will need to be on our game in this one no doubt about it.

Cup games are great at this stage, anyone's game really. We've dropped too many points this season for my liking, so we need to be clinical against Utd and treat this like the must-win it is. No room for half-arsed performances like we've seen from some players. Would like to see Hooper and Stokes start again.

Still waiting to hear the news on Wanyama's red card appeal. I think its supposed to be today but no word so far. Lets hope common sense pervails and he is able to play Sunday.

It's been reduced to a yellow. Bet that wouldn't have happened last season or the year before!

It's just a personal thing but I genuinely hate going there. It doesn't stop me in fairness, but I'm kind of glad I can't make it over this weekend.

As for last week, I had a €2.50 accumulator on Dundee, St Mirren, Cardiff to draw with Watford and Charlton to beat Leeds. Not only did we not win the league but that wee scrote James McFadden done me for €389

Why does the Celtic game v Dundee United kick off so early, is it all down to TV demands or do the police insist on early kick offs.

This match is on Sky isn't it? A 2pm kick off would be over before the English FA Cup semi kicks off on Sunday at 4. A 2pm kick off would clash with Stoke v Man U but the kick off as it is now will be on during the broadcasting of Newcastle v Sunderland anyway. Must be the cops that are insisting on kick off times.

With the exception of European games and the odd 7.45 in the league/cups, all our televised games are at 1245.

It can't be policing because we have plenty home games not on TV that kick off at 3 which gives people plenty time to wreck the place  who knows.

It's the lack of televised games that gets me. The idea is to get people to attend games, but it's not as if I'm going to suddenly pull the money out of my arse to make it over just because it's not on the box. It's killing a lot of CSCs who don't have streams/dodgy channels sorted.

They do seem to have been on TV far more, but I thought I was just paranoid!

The right decision no doubt about it. The red was a total joke. But given it was the SFA doing the right thing is not what you expect so I was plesantly surprised when I heard the decision.

Having Wanyama is vital I think for tomorrow as I expect us to face a very tough game from Dundee United. Jackie has done very well since he took over. So it really is big for us I think that Wanyama is able to play now.
