I don't think his 40 time is the biggest issue teams have with Te'o, It's the media circus that he will undoubtedly bring to a team. The distraction to a teams preseason preperation

He will 100% go in the first round.

If he drops into the second I think he could keep falling.

The final big pro-day's tomorrow. Most eye's will be focused on Mr. Barkley over at USC

4.69 is te'os official time. That's reasonable. He ran a great 20 yard shuttle at the combine, and aside from one game last season, he was elite. I feel very strongly he'll go late in the 1st.

If anyone wants a quick glimpse of the Gruden QB Camp with Te'o there's 3 and a half minutes of it available on this ESPN article:

Any idea when its due to air proper? (any of them, not just Teo. particularly interested in Geno's tbh)

Te'o's first up and it's currently airing now on ESPN (America). It should be on YouTube within the next hour or two.

Geno's the 4th of April, Barkley the 6th.

Full list here, apologies I can't copy and paste the table but I don't know how to format it:

If he does he will put himself back in play for a high 1st round pick.

If Raiders part way with Palmer I'd expect them to take Geno which would put Barkley in play for Cards (unlikely according to their coach) Bill's (good fit) Jets (would they want another USC QB)

The irony for me, if Barkley goes in the 2nd is that IMO hell have a better career than any of the mediocre USC 1st round QBs of the past decade.

If I were a rookie QB this year I would want to end up in Buffalo. There is a decent defence in place and you have guys who will help out and give you a chance on offense.

Manti Te'o has turned down 2 invites to the NFL draft. Sensible given the doubt surrounding his draft status. The last thing he wants is more media attention if he is last man in the green room

I know I'm harping on about the Jags #2 pick at this stage, but the Jags are taking either Geno Smith or Dion Jordan at #2. Would be shocked if it's anyone else. Dion Jordan's versatility in a 3-4/4-3, which is what Gus Bradley has planned for our D, makes him the obvious choice if we don't go with a QB in the draft (strong rumours of a Matt Flynn trade popping up again today). I know we desperately need CB's and OT's, but with CB free agent Mike Jenkins meeting with the Jags on Thursday (and hopefully signing) and a number of RT's still on the FA market, I think the draft will be used for a QB or pass rusher.

Chiefs scouts apparently ''fascinated'' by Geno Smith. All that says to me is:

I'd be shocked if they didn't go Joeckel #1 and Mikey I think the Jags are taking Smith at #2 also.

Possibly hoping Jags or whoever else will panic and trade up for the number one pick, Chiefs would still get their guy and a few extra picks to boot.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,825 ✭✭✭Mikeyt086

Surely nobody will bite on that by the Chiefs. If they did "love" Geno they wouldn't have traded for Alex Smith. The chances of the Jags panicking and trading up are slim, as I reckon if Geno is available they will take him, if not Dion Jordon or some other pass rusher will do fine. The question is, are some team like the Raiders or Bills going to panic? Doubtful really.

According to Mel Kiper, Peyton Manning had a horrible Pro-day.

If anybody takes Geno Smith in the top ten he should be fired immediately for doing such a great injustice to his franchise. You can quote me if Geno Smith becomes a great one.

I would take Barkley over all other QBs :pac:

I'd take Manuel or Barkley tbh.

Smith is the best of a bad bunch in my eyes. Having said that none of them are worth first round never mind top 10

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,317 ✭✭✭HigginsJ

Geno Smith is well worth a top 10 pick. Clear best QB IMO.

    Barkley 2nd, Tyler Wilson 3rd

Way I see it if all your other needs are covered and really need a QB take Smith in the first round. I like Geno Smith but I think there is better value in other positions than QB in this draft. But as usual teams will bite on QBs in the first round because it is seen as the necessary thing to do.

I think the Bills have no choice but to go QB. If they get Smith at 8 it's great value, but I think they might bite and trade up with the Jags or Raiders
