Just out of interest what is your opinions on the next gen of consoles?Which do you think will do better in sales? Are they coming out to soon( supposedly will be out by Christmas next year )?who will get better exclusives ? And the price?
In my opinion I think if more developers were making the most of the systems (gta gow uncharted halo ) then there wouldn't be much of a push to upgrade

720 at least that backwards compatibility for previous consoles xbox 360 and xbox games discs

while ps4 isnt backwards compatibility for previous consoles ps3, PS2 and ps1 games discs

Sony Clarifies that their PS4 wont be backwards compatibles ps3, ps2 and ps1.

News: PlayStation 4 Not Backwards Compatible With Retail or Digital Games.

that means you own ps3 or ps2 or ps1 games they wont work on ps4,

going have pay them again to work on ps4 and download them virtual to work on ps4

Heard Certain titles will come out on both. That's not one of them isit? In any case. Naughty Dog are exclusive to PS and everyone of their games so far has blown my mindhole :D

I don't think I'll "jump in" so blindly this time around, I was burned with a launch day console, or should I say 3 of them...

I think the thing that attracted me to the Xbox in the first place (games!) seems to play second fiddle to the endless apps and social ****e I don't really care about that they have nowadays - whilst I'm interested in the new Xbox I have to say the PS4 looks brilliant...

Apparently Kinect will be mandatory, eugh...

And I have a PS3 also but its my least used console tbf - so wondering should I bother with either and just get a PC...

I doubt it in terms of major exclusives since porting would be an absolute whore. Could be available on the streaming service alright

Until they decide to sort out all the fucking bugs that destroy the consoles, I won't be buying either.

    EDIT:

This crap REALLY turns me off. There seem to be too many games that throw in the single player mode as an after thought. I much prefer to play single player, other people piss me off too much.

Impossible to say which will sell better. As to which I'll buy? Probably both. The question I have is which first, and when. And that is, again, something impossible to say. I got the regular Xbox, and I got the 360 because just as I loved Morrowind, KotOR and Jade Empire, I knew Bethesda and BioWare were going to come out with brilliant games. At the time, they were console exclusives to the Xbox, so it seemed like the only way I'd get to play their games would be 360.

There still are great games for the 360, and there are ones for the PS3. I think the winner of the two for me has to be the 360, but the PS3 obviously did enough to say I bought it. It seems logical to figure the next generation will be the same for both systems. I'll also be getting the Wii U. Windwaker HD, Bayonetta 2, any other Zelda games, Mario games, and if they get JRPGs like The Last Story or Xenoblade, but with the way sales are at the moment that doesn't look too likely.

Honestly, the sales momentum for the Wii U is very poor. Yes, it may pick up a lot as more games get released, but around the end of the year, the market is going to be highly competitive with two rival systems being sold. Anyway, I'm looking forward to E3 and see what the 3 of them have to show. Sony have shown a lot already, so it'll be interesting to see if they have much to show at E3. Well, they'll show what the console looks like, anyway.

But the Kinect and social apps won't detract from the games. It may even enhance it.

I'm thinking 720. Well, I will anyway. All my mates own xBox and we all play CoD together. So it makes little sense to get a PS4.

But even then, Sonys events have been lack luster and so have their products. I'm not expecting much from the PS4, but I might be surprised.

EDIT: BTW, the xBox operating system is being designed by the guy who designed NT4 and XP. So expect stability. Plus I forgot to add, I'm hoping they get full skype intergration up and running. That'll mix in nicely with the Kinects webcam. Windows 8 (for tablets and phone) is a great OS so I'm hoping they won't disappoint with the nextbox.

With the ps4 coming out this year why are Sony releasing such massive titles such as last of us and gta5 on ps3?if they released them on Ps4 surely more people would run out and buy it but with the games coming to ps3 there's no need to buy the new console for a while. It doesn't make sense to me ...

Xbox has no games and why the fuk would anyone pay €50 just to play online on the game you already own? PS4 is the way to go

I don't think so, PSN will likely be free and they'll do something similar to ps plus were they charge a fee

The playstation 2 had relatively big releases coming out for PS2 for the year prior to the PS3. Grand Theft Auto would get far more sales on the existing consoles than it would as a launch title. There's never strong launch titles on consoles, in fact generally they're fairly lacklustre and barely utilise the hardware. Both the PS3 and 360 are rather ancient as hardware goes so an update is somewhat necessary.

Completely different architecture to what the games have been built on plus a userbase takes time to grow. Financially it makes sense to release on an established console instead of hoping people rush out & buy the console purely for the game at launch

GTA IV grossed $500,000,000 in its first week. GTA 5 is likely to outdo that.

If they released it as a PS4 title there's no guarantee at all that they'd come anywhere close to those type of sales.

Not a hope they will, that's the appeal of PSN. Even if they did I wouldn't pay for it.

I would say they will this time around, similar to Xbox Gold...

I'm not writing off the next Xbox just yet - if it impresses the pants off me I will get one....

Id say theyll keep basic playing of games free, have 1 tier for all the uploading & other social features then have the higher priced tier replacing ps+

Night in the turkey house and two acid is better than any computer game. Might even be the best sex you ever had if you get the right trip.

I also read somewhere that the next Xbox will have to be connected to the internet at all times in order to work and play your games. You're also going to have to install all your games on the HDD, knowing Microsoft they'll charge through the roof for that special hard drive.

With everything I've heard the next Xbox is a weaker and unappealing console compared to the PS4.
