I'll go with the flow, but I know i've no tower left! -_-

I don't see why a reset is necessary. I know some people have lost stuff, I lost about half of my house. but personally I believe repairing half a house is much easier than starting from scratch again.
From what I can see its mostly people who lost stuff that want a reset. A reset wouldn't really effect these people but would effect the rest of us more. I know it sucks and all that stuff was lost, but why make everyone suffer?
I don't mind donating stuff to help rebuild spawn but I think a reset is a very unnecessary overreaction. =S

It'd be annoying to have a reset since I'm more or less finished the first phase of my walled village, but I'm not married to it and if people want to do a reset, I can live with that.

Sucks really hard that it went as tits up as it did, but it's Minecraft, we can rebuild :)

    [edit]
I realise upon re-reading that I'm not being entirely clear - a reset is probably the fairest and easiest thing to do, so by all means flick the switch, but maybe offer a bonus starting loot set to everyone to make for a speedier recovery process?

Going to add my 2 cents, being someone who has yet to place a block one the current map :p
I would be in favour of keeping the current map. Granted if it was back in days of the great race for diamonds then I could understand having a reset. For now, I dont think its necessary. I couldnt care less if someone has a 3 day build/ diamond kit/ chest full of stuff. Doesnt make a difference really.
Is there anyone who really opposes staying as is or are people thinking "ahh sure why not"?
    No reset imo.

If there is a reset, could a mod please have a look at around 28 -346 and see who's constantly been leaving floating trees and cutting them down without replanting? I'd like to jam some splinters under their fingernails.

I haven't placed a single block either, so I am not too bothered and I can see how others would be upset with a reset but imo, we rebuild all the time and that is part of the fun. Usually people will make a house and that is that, so a reset can't be all that bad :)

Oh and yes Gavin, even the nyan cat map :P

Also, is it possible to allow doors/switches etc to be interacted with on the legacy server? Not being allowed to seriously cuts exploration

Just wondering with all the talk of the old maps and imports would it be possible to have a mueseum of old spawns in an area of the map but have world proetct on them so they can't be raided or messed with or would that kill it for memory?

We already have that, its called the Legacy Server :)

Lads you can't be serious, my house has about 20+ hours of work on it! We had a new map a week ago!

This could easily just happen again, so what's the point in even rebuilding??

    Please please don't reset!! :(

You realise that's exactly how the people who did lose everything feel too right? I spent 12 hours a day online, and lost everything bar the first night of building.

A reset is the only way this is ever going to be fair

Are you kidding me? Who did this?

I feel like that if I did lose everything like the way you guys did, there's nothing that can be done, and I could move to a new area and get on with it without tearing everyone else down with me. But I didn't, so why does my house have to be deleted?

If it was only one person who this happened to, would there still be a map reset?

As I said, I would help rebuild everything that was destroyed, no problem at all. Everything would have been the same, I would have destroyed all my materials, all I wanted was to keep the house I spent hours and hours on, that was unharmed in the server crash.

But it's not just about houses. You may have spent hours building your house, and some other's who spent even longer lost their houses. But keeping the map and deleting people's items isn't fair and the time and effort gone into farming materials cannot be replaced to those who lost everything.

Even if the map wasn't reset, half of the people who didn't lose their stuff have no obligation to help so can continue exactly where they left off whilst other people are four days behind with absolutely nothing. It's not exactly the same as just picking up and starting again somewhere else...

Oh btw, SeRiOuS_DucK, why did you decide to build on a plot of land directly behind my house when you know for a fact that's where ArcadeKid was living before he lost all his stuff?

Is this the drill now? Someone loses their plot so you just think you can move in there?
You also did this last night before any decision had been made on whether to reset or not...so what would you have said to him if he logged on and you were living on his land?

Since it's happening now, might as well suck it up and accept it!

Can somebody find me a nice high cliff in the new valley and reserve it for me? I won't get on until tomorrow! :)

yeah my place getting set up was fairly tricky and there is a decent supply of items in the chest but isn't that what minecraft is all about? I wouldn't mind starting again and the thought of redoing 3 days of work (and stuff like helping nim with the snow for example) is a horrible feeling.

Just wondering with all the talk of the old maps and imports would it be possible to have a mueseum of old spawns in an area of the map but have world proetct on them so they can't be raided or messed with or would that kill it for memory?
