I just said in the game, I'm gonna be gone for a week or so - some of my extended family have another server up and running and I wanted to do something specific over there, so instead of trying to manage both servers, I'll concentrate on that one for now.

All my stuff is in 2 chests (there's about 100 iron ingots and a fair bit of coal which will be useful to some I'm sure) and I give up my claim on that mountain cause I'd be really lame to hold on to it and not be working on it when there are others looking for an interesting spot to build on.

A week is a long time on a Minecraft server, can't wait to see what ye do with the place

But who gets it?! i think there should be a battle royal between all that want it...

Is it possible to get a hunger games style map running like the sky block one?

was it a template you used or was it created by the gods based on other plans?

btw i'm not pushed on getting it there are better builders out there and my item sorter is slowly starting to take shape again!

For the record, what's the policy regarding creating portals?

Having to immediately build enclosures for them is a given, you can't have unlinked portals wreaking havoc!

Will Mods be able to build them for people, or admins only?

Will anyone wanting a portal have to pay something/do something/have 20 obsidian before an admin will build them?

The only portal permitted for now is the one at spawn. People can use the /spawn command so this shouldn't be much of a bother. Later on down the line this will change, but for now just stick with the one at spawn.

Maybe not a bother to get there, but to get back home afterwards might be a different story for 80% of the server...

Yeah, that was before spawn was deleted and everyone decided to stay the hell away from it

And on that note, same **** has happened AGAIN. Server appears to have saved 10-15 mins before the crash, but items placed in world or put in containers in that period have been deleted. Including most of the stuff I just brought back from the Nether. Seriously, this is getting to be a joke now :mad:

That was my fault, not the server crashing. What's weird was it reverted the map data but not the player data.

Can we have Word Of God on the situation with automated chicken farms? They're stupid, cause colossal chunk lag (and even full-blown server lag every time someone wanders close enough to load the offending chunks!) and lots of people are complaining that if these are allowable, why aren't mob farms?

IMHO, they're a server-chewing mess that is indeed no better than a mob farm. Should these be made bannable?

I am having trouble getting onto the server, it keeps telling me to update to the newest version of mine craft 1.5.1(have i have when i open the vanilla mc). Ftb doesnt seem to be updating my client

Anyway any idea what to do, running an update does nothing for me.

Um... the vanilla server is 1.5.1. The FTB server was 1.4.7, but is currently closed and probably won't be reopened until FTB and its core modpacks are updated to 1.5.1, which may take quite a while.

If you're trying to connect to the vanilla server, use a vanilla Minecraft client and let it update itself. FTB can't update anything to 1.5.1 as FTB is still based on 1.4.7
