No it was definitely short. It was pointed out to me by another club member who ran too after the race.I hadn't noticed until she said it. I spoke to a few people after and they said same. See also here:http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056828683

That's very disappointing. Nevertheless you ran well and will again.

Great run and great report. It's super that you could bring your mam, there's very few on boards who can say that!

Your race and your splits were very strong, don't worry about the course being short, use it as a confidence builder for your next races. You ran a fantastic race is crap conditions, your only back from 2 injuries, your splits will give u confidence, you will have learned loads about your ability at that distance, and it's only March! Great running Sir!!

Even if it was short, looks like you still would've got under 1.45 so you have to be over the moon now. I knew you would!

Thanks for the vote of confidence RM. Yes I guess I would have been close at least, which I would have been delighted with. I'm still slightly shocked I was able to maintain that pace after what was really just 5 weeks training so I guess like other posters have already said too ,I should take the positives out of it.

Super improvement red, Esp considering the back injury not long ago!
If it makes you feel better add the time equivalent of that last 600m to your time? But as said just take it as a good confidence boost and plan the next half to rubber stamp it! Either way it's a huge leap

Great run and report. Your focus really shines thru. Like RM said any calculation for last 600m you were finishing strongly - do the math. So short course or not you just moved up the bar! Time to rethink HM goal for rest of year?

Thanks WalkedIT, yes that's the scary bit!:) I think my next HM will have a target of 1:45.

Spot on rasher_m. That was my first thought.

You're already there RR. It's an incredible time altogether. Down over 11 minutes by my reckoning, nearly a minute a mile over a HM.

    Serious stuff. Congrats.

Now you have to reasons to contact them...you should you know and
if they don't find your result then they should refund you!

No I haven't , I don't even know if it's worth the trouble at this stage!

Contact them, anything involving data entry can be messed up occasionally. They won't double check anything unless you send them a mail. I contacted the timekeepers behind the last two races I did, and they got back to me within a day.

Well done on your race too, more importantly! You kept your end of the bargain, by smashing it out. :)

Plan was to do a recovery run today but I had to go into work and as I'm travelling for work tomorrow I had to prepare for that so didn't get out tonight either.
Not back till late Wednesday night so have packed the runners with the intent of getting some miles in whether its on a treadmill or Al Fresco.

    March 19th

Nada--Arrived into Frankfurt late. Was tired so put the feet up in hotel and did a bit of prep for my meeting today

    March 20th

Up at 6am...yes I did say 6:eek:..and on the road by 6:17am. I'm really not good that hour of the morning! Hard to get the legs going. Was reading on one of the other threads, cant remember which now, that lots of other people feel like that too.

This was my first run since HM on Sunday so was glad I made the effort.Lets call it a recovery run
4.1 miles @ 9:16 avg along the river in Frankfurt on a chilly morning in drizzly rain. Was well and truly awake by time I got back to hotel.

Hasn't been a great week so far for running with work getting in the way and my diet has been rubbish. Need to get my act together and get back in a routine and eat more healthily.

Weather tonight was atrocious. Lashing rain and this was a run of two halves.Nice and sheltered on way out but on way back it was along the coast road and I was at times being blown back to a standstill. Tough work but glad I went out in it.It would have been very easy not to do anything with the weather like that.

    5.56 miles @ 8:24avg

    Max HR 174

I don't envy you out in that! How's the body after Sunday?

Body is grand thanks. Calves a bit tight, could probably do with a good sports massage but otherwise grand. My back pain is almost non-existent too which is brilliant.
I see you are still banking those miles fair play for keeping it going, you don't seem to miss any runs on the plan.

Once your back is holding up that's the main thing! Get the roller on the calves? I use the stick, and/or massage them myself, usually works. Yea lucky enough to be getting all my runs done the last few weeks anyway. Got the new adrenaline today same as yourself, very cosy! And he threw in a pair of 1000 mile socks.

5.73mi @8:37avg run naked in the lashing rain and blustery conditions. No ice cream though:) So refreshing though and the freedom was great;)

Of course the nakedness I refer to is because I hadn't got my Garmin watch on my wrist, I sent it back to Garmin today to be replaced as the start button was faulty. I just felt naked without it:D

I was able to take along my old FR110 though. It has a broken strap so just carried it in my pocket.

Felt really tired early in this run though. I reckon this is because I hadnt rally had a proper meal in last couple of days due to work and travel. So I cut it shorter than I had originally planned. Have been living on sandwiches so hope that's all it was. Will probably rest tomorrow though anyway and just do a long run on Sunday instead.

Looking at your totals, Obviously you don't have OCD.

Do you mean my compulsion to record the exact distance covered?
Or do you mean because I don't run longer to round up the miles?

I can be a bit pedantic about it alright:)
