My first post was about Torchwood. Others that followed were about Come Dine With Me (Ireland), Dragon's Den and Fair City.

So, apparently I joined to talk about bad TV.

To find out what was coming up in the mock LC papers other people had done before we did ours. The amount of new posters in the LC forum is mad around exam time :D

Probation officer suggested it as way of keeping me distracted from things.
My mate is a probation officer too.

The nerds grew silent on Sin boards, and where Galweigan nerds go, I can only follow.

Someone from Compsoc said to me in a chatroom across a dusty computer lab, "have you seen boards.ie?" I took a look and remembered I had seen it before, but it still had hardly any posts. I signed up a year or two later.

Joined back in 2001 when I was playing a lot of Counter-Strike on Irish servers. Back then, the CS forum was the place to be, and yours truly was banned out of it at one point.

A friend offered me a go at texting. I tried it and liked it. After a while, the thrill of texting faded and I decided to go online. At first, I just took a few searches, that soon waned. I started really going online around 2002, just once a week, nothing serious, just dial-up. That became a habit, and soon I was scoring Broadband, I didn't tell my friends or colleagues. I thought I could handle it, but then I started posting stuff. I've been hardcore posting since 2008. I've tried stopping, but nothing works. The sweats, the shakes, I just don't feel normal. My name is Dwork, I'm a Boardsie.

I'm still here in 2013 killing my boredom.

No poo threads allowed any more. Even banned the gentleman who started most of them. Seems you aren't allowed talk about a perfectly normal bodily function, but are perfectly entitled to start threads advocating death sentences, misogyny and voting for Sinn Féin.

I joined in 2000, and quickly developed a reputation as one of boards most obnoxious trolls. I got a peculiar kick out of winding people up on the Internet. I then got bored, and stopped posting.

I rejoined in 2010 following the hacking incident. I now engage in passionate, yet respectful debate, and take this whole Internet thing very seriously.

Well, that's going well then. ;)

Seriously, it's interesting to see how it has evolved and the reasons why.

Me, think it was a google search about getting other channels on Sky, couple of other searches as well and Boards showed up often. It really does offer loads of stuff you'd never know without it.

I think it had something to do with tabletop wargames. It was so long ago I'm not entirely certain there was a time I wasn't here.

For the record, I totally played Quake, but that was before I joined. It was just too mainstream by then...

    Can't remember specifically.
I was probably asking questions regarding rent allowance; those days are over, but I still try and advise people on it if I can.
Other than that, I was always interested in the Cooking Club and After Hours.

Closed my account after I made a post that I was immediately ashamed of. Bit of a kneejerk reaction but when I took a step back, I saw more clearly that the replies to my post were not personal attacks on me but on what I (stupidly) wrote. I've lived and I've learned.

Glad I'm back. I love this place :)
