Out of interest, anyone know what all the people running across the Living Bridge last night at around 7pm were at? I assume it was training of some kind, just curious as to what it was for...

The UL Rowing Club 5 Km run series.

It won't be on next week due to Rag week.

Two more weeks of races the two following weeks.

Just for fun? I've done it a couple of times. The bonce on that bridge is the best

The bounce on the bridge slows up the pace to about 20 seconds a Km.

Out of interest what's the route? Because most seemed to be coming from the Clare side (Health Science) but as I was passing the Engineering Building another group were going back the opposite way, over the bridge again.

I have an assignment due Friday of next week (Charity Week), so I decided to do it early so I can enjoy myself and keep the pressure off near the end of the week. By Wednesday night I had it mostly done, with just a few touch ups to go. On Thursday morning, I was talking to a few of my class. Turns out most of what I did was wrong, so I was back to square one. Spent most of the rest of the day and night trying to fix it.
Had a lecture for the module today. Lecturer decided to change some of the definitions of the words (without changing the assignment topic), making the assignment question mean a totally different thing. I now have to write the whole thing again.

By the end of this weekend, I'll have done 3 separate essays, taking over 20hours work. In the end I'll get one mediocre result. That'll teach me for doing an assignment early.

E-mailed the SAA on Sunday about getting an official transcript done up, e-mailed again on Tuesday, no reply to either - I know transcripts take two to three days, but that neither covers the lack of communication or the lack of a transcript. They're probably under-staffed and over-worked, but it's not the first time this year I've sent them an e-mail about something important and gotten no reply. Pretty frustrating.

Tell them you need it to enter some Red Bull competition to get into space, they'll reply within the hour :pac:

You need to pay for an official transcript so it's not something that can be ordered by email - they should really have replied informing you of that though.

Just call in to the front desk during the week and get it straight away.

Just curious, but do many people generally turn up for lectures during rag week? Our lecturers have implied the negative, but I'm wondering if it'll be like 'half the module' or scarcely any. :/

Depends on if the lecture has attendance marks or word due that week.

Not looking forward to this week at all :/
Have shi+loads of work to do,
Exam Monday and 2 assignments to do for next week,
Lots of reading to do and the noise will wreck my head...
No avoiding it either because it's just as loud at home as it will be in college :/
Not because of housemates but Briarfield was extremely loud last year...

Well I wasn't really looking for a transcript, I haven't completed my degree yet. I merely needed an official letter from the SAA confirming my QCA for an application, sorry, I worded my post badly.

Anyway I missed the application date, so yeah, bit miffed.

I don't normally bitch, but seriously, do I need twenty reminders a day about some stupid Irish language thing that's going on that has no interest for me? She is officially in my spam filter with a couple of others.

Tell security if there isn't any free seats and they'll be thrown out. Are they not supposed to be checking ID's or was that only someones bright idea that won't be implemented?

To be honest if the library implemented a simple scan gate like they have in say, UCD (when I was there anyway) there would be no issues. The ID cards already have this capability anyway.
