I was viciously assaulted last year WAY worse than this case, and the scummer got away 100% scott free.

And you took from this experience that what happened in your case was fine, but this prick getting a harsh sentence is wrong?
I think you may have some self esteem issues yoshi!

Both are wrong therefore both should be given equal treatment, but because I'm male it's not seen as equal crime in this country. Women are charished while men treat like dirt, by the courts. Undeniable.

Did the scummer remove your pants make you think he was going to bugger you?

You seem to think that it only matters what the offender has actually done, not what he intended to do? Is it less of an offence if they plan on raping her but get disturbed before they can carry it out?

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad these scum were sent to jail. I support harsh sentences, but only if they're given out CONSISTENTLY. Not only when the victim is the culturally preferred and cherished gender (female)

I know for a fact that most lawyers in the Court yesterday believed this was a very serious offence. I know that this case was on the extreme end of assaults. For very specific reasons.

But this country amazes me, based on nothing more than a few paragraphs of a news article a judge is either too easy or now too hard. This sentence took about 2 hours, unless you sat in court you don't know the details.

Different crimes. Assault -v- rape/sexual assault. Rape is a far more serious crime and rightly so.

I can assure you if any man went through the same the sentence would have been the same.

Do you honestly think the perpetrators would have gotten 9 years if the victim/s had have been male? Be honest.

She was likely going to have sex with him any way. It's not like she was a chaste women. The perpetrator would just as likely be differed from committing crimes again if he was given say 6 months, or even if he was let off.

Remove that post before I report it. If you are not a troll you have serious issues.

I went through similar. He got let off, and I've heard of countless other times when this has happened.

Can you share details of the case? Otherwise I'm going to assume all he did was pull her knickers down (as that's the only info given) which isn't exactly serious is it? In school, males get 'jocked' all the time.

I am not going to share any details, as there is a reporting ban on identifying one of the victims. It was way worse than that. To say it is similar to getting "jocked" is down right insulting and to be frank stupid. As I said if you are a troll your a twat, if your not you are just sad.

The judge awarded it without consulting her

IIRC she rejected the blood money

I got no justice from the criminal court, so I set out to find out WHY there is this despicable bias against males, and I've since come across many answers.

Women tend to play up their ordeals to be way worse than they were and pretend to be affected by them way worse than they are, whereas with men it's the opposite.

Do gits not feel pain? Gittery aside, a human being deserves equal justice regardless if they are the preferred gender or race, or not.

This was not just an assault, I have sat through many an assault case, this was something way more. But you dont seem to get that.

    @ yoshi
I will agree with you that sentencing in Ireland is a joke and based on other court sentences Ive read if this was a male, there would be less said about it.
But what you were saying earlier is way out of line.

I have no time for lawyers and their money spinner called free legal aid with repeat customers..... sorry I meant offenders, but jail time of nine years its about time. Now only if it was hard time and not the cosy lil place they call prison.

Yoshi banned. For a variety of reasons, the worst of which is not putting the effort into your trolling.

Note the book title in the photo. Very appropriate reading considering the venue and the crime. What a dirtball.

    Fun fact:
Dexter is Latin for "right" and sinister is Latin for "left".

Michael Carlyle Hall plays the character Dexter, he previously portrayed a Funeral Director/Undertaker/Mortician in six Feet Under.

There is a few Carlyle Hall's on facebook
    AdamHeneghanCorkCircuitCriminalCourt_large.jpg

One of them is a Funeral Director.

It would be 'appropriate' if Dexter was a sex offender. He's not. Nothing to see here.

that maybe so but to downplay the significance of a sex offender reading such a novel by saying the lead in the book isn't a sex offender is splitting hairs and in my view dexter is not the type of book that should be allowed inside a prison where there are murderers and rapists.

isn't there supposed to be sensible censorship of all letters and books that go in and out of a prison?? and for good reasons too
