Dexter Design? Is that what it says?
I've no idea what that is?

It's a novel about a serial killer who hunts down and murders other serial killers while working as a blood spatter analyst for the Miami police force. Quite a popular tv show too

It would be 'appropriate' if Dexter was a sex offender. He's not. Nothing to see here.

    Fun fact:
Dexter is Latin for "right" and sinister is Latin for "left".

Dexter had a laboratory, he was a poindexter.

I've just learned that Poindexter is actually Latin for Poinright.

Both Dexters are the same person….

I’m gonna spoiler this for those who haven’t seen the first season or read the first book.
ok so apart from the general appearance of both characters being the same person there is a lot in Dexters Lab that hint at future Dexter.

When stuck with his brother in the shipping container his mind goes somewhere else. This somewhere is his lab.

In his lad he pictures his brother as a stereotypical dumb blonde girl. This could show that Dexter was already afraid of his brother (who was a psycho too remember) and perhaps Dexter was afraid of him and being trapped in a shipping container surrounded by his mothers blood it was the only way he could cope mentally

He doesn’t want to picture his mother or his fathers face and that’s why they are never shown in DL.

His imagination of having this HUGE lab full of all the equipment he could ever want never paying for any of it and nobody noticing shows his intelligence later in life (other kids would think of less complicated stuff to play with in their mind.

Outbursts at DeeDee could show the beginning of the dark passenger, this rage he eventually focuses on the task of killing removing this outburst mentality.

Picturing him with a sister in his mind has brought him a lot closer to Debs however and feeling bad at picturing a sister as negatively as he had he now will do anything for her.
Dexter admits that he cannot hurt Debra or allow anyone else to harm her because he is "fond of her". In the first episode of Season 1, he says that "I don't have feelings about anything, but if I could have feelings at all, I'd have them for Deb.

    That is all!

I think it's stranger that someone on trial for a sex offence brings a book to read in the court. If I was on trial for a serious offence I would be halfway to puking and focussed on what was happening. I wouldn't be relaxed enough to read a book.

That says more about this scumbag's attitude than the actual nature of the book he was reading IMO.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,841 ✭✭✭lertsnim

Note the book title in the photo. Very appropriate reading considering the venue and the crime. What a dirtball.

You think 9 years is too harsh for a violent attempted rape?

Men get assaulted by other men in unprovoked attacks all the time. In those cases the perpetrators always get away scott-free (ESPECIALLY first offenses). Do you think men feel physical pain any less than women?

As for the sexual assault bit. He pulled her knickers down, but didn't do anything. She took out her phone. Why did this matter to them? Why didn't they just take it off her and do the deed?

Baffling all round to say the least.

    mod: banned.

You can always tell when the judge doesnt know the family by the way he does the sentencing.... These kids rightfully get 9 years.

A guy in dublin gets 6 months, pays the victim 75,000 and walks.

    what a fcukin system:mad:

Instead of engaging in ad hominem, how about you tell me how I'm wrong?

I was viciously assaulted last year WAY worse than this case, and the scummer got away 100% scott free.

No not at all, you are incorrect because I sat through the sentence as my clients case was before the same judge. I know what info was before the court unlike you.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad these scum were sent to jail. I support harsh sentences, but only if they're given out CONSISTENTLY. Not only when the victim is the culturally preferred and cherished gender (female)

I think you may have some self esteem issues yoshi!

Both are wrong therefore both should be given equal treatment, but because I'm male it's not seen as equal crime in this country. Women are charished while men treat like dirt, by the courts. Undeniable.

Did the scummer remove your pants make you think he was going to bugger you?

You seem to think that it only matters what the offender has actually done, not what he intended to do? Is it less of an offence if they plan on raping her but get disturbed before they can carry it out?

I know for a fact that most lawyers in the Court yesterday believed this was a very serious offence. I know that this case was on the extreme end of assaults. For very specific reasons.

But this country amazes me, based on nothing more than a few paragraphs of a news article a judge is either too easy or now too hard. This sentence took about 2 hours, unless you sat in court you don't know the details.

Different crimes. Assault -v- rape/sexual assault. Rape is a far more serious crime and rightly so.

Do you honestly think the perpetrators would have gotten 9 years if the victim/s had have been male? Be honest.

She was likely going to have sex with him any way. It's not like she was a chaste women. The perpetrator would just as likely be differed from committing crimes again if he was given say 6 months, or even if he was let off.

Remove that post before I report it. If you are not a troll you have serious issues.

Can you share details of the case? Otherwise I'm going to assume all he did was pull her knickers down (as that's the only info given) which isn't exactly serious is it? In school, males get 'jocked' all the time.

I am not going to share any details, as there is a reporting ban on identifying one of the victims. It was way worse than that. To say it is similar to getting "jocked" is down right insulting and to be frank stupid. As I said if you are a troll your a twat, if your not you are just sad.
