I wouldn't put an age on it like you would, everyone matures differently once they can grasp the pro's & con's of their decisions.

.........BUT CERTAINTLY NOT 18 MONTHS OR 4 YEARS OLD.

THATS AGEISM right there how dare you question the liberal agenda. Fire and brimstone will be your bedfellow from now till the dawning of the age of aquarius, age of aquarius, aquarius

Wanted to wear girl's clothes = dressing up

Got upset at teacher telling them what to do = tantrum

Wanted to be fixed by doctors = parents filling his head with sh1te

I'm not sure if the parents ever looked into it, but how many professionals would actually advise "gender reassignment" for an 18th month old Child?

Child is NOT 18 months old ffs.

Read the article. You know what the poster meant.

Hand on heart, I would rather my son was uncomfortable in a male meliu and eventually make his own decision rather than project on to him at a very early age in the guise of 'support'.

Are you completely insane? An 18 month old can't even talk properly!!!!
yeah, though am thinking the completely insane ones are these parents to be honest.
the biggest word the oldest niece of mine [two on april the first] is cookie and she has only just started saying it,she doesnt speak well at all in terms of vocab and its normal for that age, they do not have the expression skills or the awareness to understand gender so how on earth can this child have related to being female?

am not believing it,something isnt right.
coud it be possible the parents have always wanted a girl so have manipulated their child into becoming one?
mine always wanted a boy and all these years later she still says she is distraught she never had one,she got a biologicaly female with no gender identity instead.:P

    When did you?

Ever hear of benefit of the doubt, if the child wants to dress and identify as a girl are you saying the law should intervene?

    Meaning?

    Meaning you.

No ones saying that the child isn't transgender, just that it seems that the parents took to labeling their child extremely early, to the point that it seems there may be a factor here of the parents encouraging the child to be transgender. If there was a child born male being forced to play with boys toys people would be just as concerned, as the issue isn't whether or not a child is transgender, but rather that you just can't label a child that young. It doesn't seem at all healthy for the child, and depending on the circumstances, seems it could be bordering on abuse.

Regardless of the argument, your posts have been aggressive and defensive from the outset, and I don't think anyone other than you is feeling threatened as you suggested.

Beside the term 'strawman' in the dictionary, there should be a picture of you and a link to your posts in this thread.

It's been a work of art in some respects.

Good Christ. Just watched the full video and almost all the physical mannerisms of a boy.

Girls would be preening themselves but they just look bored.

The Mom says they said at four: "When are we gonna go to the doctor and get fixed".

Like they licked that idea of the grass.

But obviously the parents are evil as the child is "different".

I wanted boys toys and trousers since I was very young. Thank **** my parents didn't take this as a sign I was presenting as male and start making big decisions on my behalf. I would be in a bad way now.

On the contrary, we have had words such as "disgusting" banded about and calls for action to be taken against child abuse including forcible sterilization.

According to the articles it was in fact the moment that the Child had begun to indicate it's gender.

Clearly it was the catalyst for the gender reassignment.

If a male child says he doesn't like girls should we assume he's gay?

We could try simply listening to the child. That seems to be what this family did.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,327 ✭✭✭Madam_X

When a small girl likes boys' toys and games and so on, she's just deemed a tom-boy and let get on with it, most of the time not being transgender. Why are there so much more implications when a small boy expresses interest in girlie stuff?

Now now, I mentioned "disgusted" not "disgusting". As in, Im disgusted at the parents.

Try not to twist anyones elses comments to validate your points.

    Yes or No?

Simple solution to all of this would be to rename the little boys and little girls bathrooms as the penis-owners and vagina-owners bathrooms.
Of course, then there'd be no grounds for a lucrative law suit.

At the age of 4 my child told me they were the Greek hero Hercules. Should I have listened to the child and sought Olympian toilets from their school?

Maybe the parents should have consulted with one(at least) and asked them what they thought, after all even young adults who are confused about their gender go for therapy before making huge decisions..so why should it be different for parents the parents of this child who decided to dress up the child as a girl from 18 months old?

I know the child is 7 now
