Once written off. I know this because I pulled it out of a hedge after my wife got side swiped at a junction in it :D

Bask in its awfulness. Can't argue with the big test, big spec and tiny mileage,

Nice find, long test and all that but the thoughts of owning that would make me shudder. Its just so not pleasant.

REALLY shows how far they came in a few years. Even at that price there's wiggle room I'd say. (unless there's a market from taxi men, not sure on the new regs)

That's my old car, I parted with it about 2 years ago and at that point it was getting a little rough around the edges, rust-wise.. Great engine though!

    NCTd until June.
What is the real life mpg on these?, good find though, I'm looking out for a bangernomics Volvo but was mainly looking at the 2.0T. The 2.3 t5 might be slightly out of reach running cost wise.

Seriously, if there's no catch I shouldn't be posting this, I should be on my way over there.

I'd be pretty skeptical that a v40 only did 30000 miles in 16 years and still lost its hubcaps and has a steering wheel cover

My old car. I originally imported it from the UK. Still looks good in the pics, I put that km/h clock in it.

So 2 people on boards owned that BM :eek:

I would love to be the 3rd but have no funds at the moment

And that's probably why I'm not headed out with cash in hand.

30,000 on a car that age is probably not a good thing in any case.

It could be true though - such things do happen... If there is a good service history (only 2 owners) and if you could get contact details of the first owner to verify, it could be something of a peach, imo. I'm not in the market, btw. :)

2 nice 166s with long tests. Pity about the lack of V6 and auto in both though.

quirky, if ugly car. seems like a lot for the money if you aren't scared to tax it.

Not much Nct left on this, but it looks fresh enough and is cheap.

Frankly hard to believe this kind of car can be got for such little money. Not exactly strictly bangernomics budget but still... it could be if you went in with your size 10's on..

If you bought for €2.5k and taxed it for 6 months for €900, you could probably insure yourself and fill the tank for just under €4k. Bargain IMO.

"This car needs nothing" - apart from a new NCT. It's within the 3-month early period, and was done early the last time. Maybe, as langdang said, any car on sale with less than 3 months NCT left has probably already been put through and failed.

Great price though, and if a good mechanic gave it the all-clear as is....

A lad I know has a similar one for sale for a long time with absolutely no interest he is breaking it now, shame really its a lovely car. His real world mpg is only 8 though, which works out at 90c per mile in petrol alone, you can see why no interest

Like the very old Rolls Royce joke where the punter enquires about the MPG, and the haughty salesman replies "If one has to ask, Sir, one cannot afford it."

A new Normalabox 10000 doing average kilometres @ 400 notes a month just to buy it, probably cost near enough as much to run, possibly more.

Mad how people are happy to spend 5 grand a year to sit in crapbox but wouldn't even consider it in tax and petrol!

There was a year where I paid more than 90c per mile in motor tax alone :D

Now that's a candidate for an LPG conversion!
