An '88 Corolla for €750 with NCT until September, 103k miles asking €750, no doubt you can get a younger car for similar money but I reckon there could be years and years of cheap motoring left in this. Rare site on the roads now, been ages since I've seen one, a friend drove one years ago, he died aged 18 tragically, used to like seeing them around :)

The seller also has a commercial Pajero, just DOEd asking €1400, if you were confident of getting the commercial rate of tax and using it appropriately it mightn't be a bad buy...

    Another nice one here.

That does seem like a bargain €500 for a 1.4 Golf with 4 months tax and NCT till next year.

Well we've just picked up a 2002 Ford Mondeo estate, 2l diesel, 4 months tax but a short test - start of March. Its mechanically spot on though. €650 :)

Exceptionally comfortable indeed on the high profile 15" wheels!

Minimum VRT is €720 though which does not make the car a bargain imho...

Would it be that high? Not so much of a bargain then, TV or no TV ;)

Second generation MX-5 with 80k miles and a fresh NCT for €2,400 seems pretty good to me. If it's a Mazda original hardtop that is worth a couple hundred alone.

The NCT image says it was first registered in 2007 which I guess means it's a Japanese import. Could be a good thing in this case since I think Miatas are prone to rust in Ireland.

Unless the car is over 30 years old, the minimum VRT is €720. Even on a worthless banger :)

Only if the VRT is rated as 36%, because the minimum OMSP is set at €2000.

Not all cars have the maximum rate of VRT, the maximum VRT on a car with an OMSP of €2000 is €720 :)

    For that Rover........ CO2 Emissions163 attract a Rate of VRT 27% :)

    Fair enough lads!

Rarely worth your while importing bangernomics cars though...

Most of them are cheaper here than anywhere else in the world to start off with. Never mind paying any taxes on top! :)

True true, I might be tempted later this year or next if a relatively decent Rover 220 turbo Coupe came along, total waste of €720 cash though :)

No mention of mileage, presume its a taxi and has space travel mileage but for about €350-€400 would it be such a bad thing?

It's a small bit on the expensive side alright, but good standard examples of these are ten a penny at this stage and they are great reliable cars so it could still make a good buy. One thing though it's a 1.4 se model which is a uk import afaik, so rust may be an issue underneath.

It just gets worse and worse

New turbo and now the speedo is iffy. Wheels are now changed to actual alloys. Now priced at €320

    Avoid, at all costs!

Might be worth something to someone I don't care anymore :)

Enough of those, some other cars :)

    NCT till May, 1100

    Sore tax
    Full-17557605.jpeg

    Short NCT, 1650

    Tax till Nov
    Full-16922879.jpeg

    NCT till Aug, 399

Too good to be true? (Yes, they are a bastard on petrol....)

k11 micra, 10 months test, good tires, looks like the "sporty" one with spots, alloys spoiler etc... 300 quid should drive it home, only downside is a slap in the passenger door. motoring doesn't get much cheaper.

I'm grand for now though ;)
