They live in a world occupied by a ridiculous notion of Ireland and 'Irishness' which never even existed and organise stuff like The Gathering.

Their policy proposals are a joke are doomed to failure over and over.

Their supporters are generally split between gougers and the geansaí brigade. relect them again and again, no matter how many times they **** in their well feathered nests.

Fixed a few things in that for you.

I'm somewhat confused as to what people are supposed to be warned about re "really stand for" etc. You might perhaps elaborate?

Nah it's more to do with a general feeling of not honouring terrorists.

Funny how SF are always confused when asked a question, so they avoid it by asking another question.

Are you a nonrepentent cheerleader of the Provisional IRA & Sinn Fein?

    Good Night All zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

Your first mistake was to assume I support either of those two joke parties.

I've changed my mind, of course sin Fein should have a bank holiday, and as we live in a time if transparency and fairness, fine Gael/fine fail should also have one, as should labour, technical group and the Healy Raes. We'll just lash em altogether and call it a week off.

you can't really say the provos should be commemorated on this day without accepting the reals/contos should be commemorated too so im somewhat surprised SF are digging themselves this hole. I would have asked snodigh if he thought Joe O'Connor should be commemorated on this day

similarly you can't really say james connolly/tom barry etc should be commemorated without saying the provos should be commemorated, though i'm not so surprised people are over looking this

Yawning on the internet, that's a problem, might need to have that checked out.
For what it's worth, I would support some kind of commenorative day, of celebrating the beginings of the foundation of the state in some way... but the inclusion of the Provos, as Sinn Fein has alluded to, is down right ludicrous.

No. What impression does it give to the rest of Europe for us to observe a Terrorist Remembrance Day

The country didn't become a republic until 1949 and it wasn't announced outside the GPO, it was announced in Canada.

Off the top of my head wasn't it announced by FG and the British went mental at the time. We left the commonwealth then as well I think. The Taoisigh of the day didn't even tell the members of his own government he just went and announced it. A big shock to them and all.

I'm against this bank holiday another stupid idea from Sinn Fein and especially not if it honors Provos. So SF have appologised for the wrong doing these guys did including killing children and members of the guards and now they want them honored. **** off. No wonder the country is in a mess.

It doesn't surprise that FF are the most popular party again and people are taking this seriously because Irish people really don't concentrate on the important issues. NOT THIS BULL****.

Or rather it doesn't surprise me FF are back in top when these idiots are their competition in opposition.

SINN FEIN WANT A PROVO HOLIDAY!! AHHHHHHHHH!
A total misrepresentation of what was actually proposed and said and typical anti SF hysteria from the usual suspects.
    Disappointing, boring but ultimately unsurprising

Asked if that included members of the Provisional IRA who died in the course of the Troubles, Mr Ó Snodaigh said it did.
Yes, a total misrepresentation of what SF want...

Including them does not a 'Provo Holiday' make.

Yes it does, that's exactly what it means. A day celebrating provos among others is still a day celebrating provos.

Then why not just have an independence day?

Hardly, though some peoples obsessions would lead them to believe otherwise.

Why hardly? If this day celebrates provos among others then it still celebrates provos. Logically that's the only valid conclusion.

Interestingly, Paisely wanted (so he claimed anyway ) that St Patrick's day should be a bank holiday also in the north.
