He might have been on to a winner if he hadn't put a bomb under his own idea by bringing the Provos into it.

He said the holiday would mark the sacrifice of men and women who gave their lives in pursuit of an independent Irish Republic.
    Makes sense.

Asked if that included members of the Provisional IRA who died in the course of the Troubles, Mr Ó Snodaigh said it did.
How about we have a holiday for all the Irish republican nationalist catholics that the various *RA organisations killed, shot, blew up, tortured or just disappeared?

then why are you taking the line of the conservative republican movement in the North east

    I don't.

You'd be hard pushed to find any of that lot having a go at the Roman church.

Seems people around here can't bear the fact that what they voted for in the GFA is coming home to bite em on the ass.
I'm neither a Gerry or a 'Nordy', whatever difference either makes, calm down.

Because anybody who voted for it conferred on everybody the right to be Irish if that is what they wished. The reality of that is what faces Enda across the chamber and force him to indulge his juvenile side iin the Dail. It is what faces people when they resort to cheap shots by referring to people as 'Nordy's'.
They need to deal with their prejudices because everytime they indulge in the above it's sure as the nose on their faces that it is fear that is the motivation, fear of that bite.
