    Too obvious? :D

    All new cars are much of a muchness. In general there is no such thing as the brand/model to avoid any more imo (new).

    Though if I was to pick something second hand capable of intergalactic mileages? E91 Starlet/E100 Corolla. Anything with an XUD diesel.

    Opel
    The second hand market, well:
    Straight-Six BMWs with M50 engines (E34 525i etc.) - seen a couple of those with 500k kms on them
    Non-turbo Diesel Mercs - W124 200d - capable of doing over a million kilometres.

    I can think of a dud from almost every manufacture in that list. Except Citroen. They're brilliant. :pac:

    Hyundai
    Honda, no question.
    It's not even on the poll though.
    I agree, Suzuki should be there, and Subaru, and despite the laughter Fiat deserves it's place above many others on that list.

    Sorry If I didn't put up all makes on the poll but if you think another car is more reliable than any of the listed please put it down.

    Thanks

    Ford
    Toyota.... & maybe it's because when they find a fault for the most part they'll recall & replace... A lot of other makes go into denial mode....

    Kind of pointless thread...give me facts anyday.

    Opinion = subjective
    Reliability = not subjective

    According to the TUV report, the most reliable car available to the Irish market is the Porsche 911.

    Hyundai
    I thought that Mazda had made top of some list or other for this.

    As others have asked, is the question relating to car serviced at the recommended intervals and given the occasional wash or ones that are driven into the ground by the majority of owners?

    For older late 90's Hondas maybe. Newer hondas are only ok.

    Newer Honda's are more than OK. They're typically better than everything else. Toyota have actually more issues and flaws in more of their cars in the last 10 years than Honda. Honda in the 90's were 100%, but while that might have dropped to 90% now a days, it's still leading the pack.

    This poll is hardly accurate but I'd say on the basis of multiple tyres kicked and on top of what Joe from down the road said about his 09 Accord.
