cos apart from that, I'm not sure what the Taoiseach's nephew gets that 'most people' cannot get...

Nobody gets anything without hard work.

However, Ireland has a 'foot in the door' and 'its who you know' culture.

Having a family connection with the Taoiseach of the country certainly would open up more doors quicker than someone who doesn't. He has connections with people all over the country and Europe in all forms of industries, you don't think he pulls favours for his family? I know I would and so would the majority of people in a similar position.

Not sure about that. Anyway the reference to 'quicker' progress is different to what you said previously, which was the point I was arguing.

You said it opens more opportunities than most people can get, full stop.

A scholarship to trinners for someone who hasn't completed schooling?
he sounds brainy for a wild youth, he got offered a scholarship at Trinity according to the article!

I think he plays rugby for Connacht (My friend was/is on the team with him I think), so it was most likely a sports scholarship.

I have zero time for Enda Kenny but,
nobody should be held accountable for the actions of another

Yet Enda thinks your grandchildren should pay back tens of billions that either they, or indeed you, had any hand act or part in obtaining.!!
So your theory is rubbish, people are held accountable for the actions of others, when 'the others' are FF,FG and Labour cronies.;)

the economic mess was created under the Fianna Fail watch - Aherne and Cowen were commanders in chief as the country went bust - and what prosperity today , most people I know are suffering economically - fair play to Bertie on NI peace process, but economically his reign was a fraudulent disaster , Enda was elected to fix the mess he inherited

Agree with above. But what has Enda done to fix the mess? he has saddled future generation/s with even more debt. If this constitutes a fixing the mess then i need some Dutch Gold, pronto...:D

wouldn't get that sort of thing with Ahern's or Cowen's nephews...;)

But there is another former Taoiseach's nephew who was a very naughty boy.

Shameful headline from gutter Indo paper on Kenny's adopted son. Trying to get a crack at Enda Kenny, who is not responsible for his nephew's action, I am not my brother's keeper.

He's proving that he's not even responsible for his own.

would this have happened under a FF regime ? Remember when Sean Doherty, Justice minister had a cousin up in court, he arranged for prosecution witness to be arrested in NI on morning of court
