It'd be nice if there was some FISH on our fishfingers.

But TBH Findus was never exactly a premium brand.

Also, Europe has relatively TIGHT regulations. I'd hate to think what's in food in places with more relaxed ones!

What I don't understand at all is how horse meat is cheaper than cow meat. (Assuming that the horse meat is being substituted in for monetary gain) are horses less expensive to rear / produce for the food chain. ?

I've suspected for years that there aren't any fingers in our fish fingers.

It is expensive to keep a horse. Unless said horse has a pension plan...

Apart from the obvious deception, is horse meat really that bad to eat?

Horse meat is beautiful - had it in France years ago. Don't know what all the fuss is about. Well, guess some companies saying 100% Irish Beef and then only putting 30% beef is a bit of a problem. But seriously, horse meat is lovely!

It is not real meat like steaks anyway. Most of it is just mechanically recovered stuff that is used for cheap processed meals. The actual meat quantity is very low it is mostly the fatty bits and all the gristle and ****e.

There not coming from France or Poland, the **** the European processors are putting in our food is coming from the states and Mexico.
Horse is a very drugged up meat and especially since what's been shipped over is not for human consumption.

Have a read of this http://www.wired.com/wiredscience/2013/01/horse-meat-scandal/

Christ an American isn't allowed eat the meat were consuming.

So where's the beef that's supposedly being produced to meet demand going?

The Pope resigns. Beef is horse. Horse is donkey. Fine Gael is Fianna Fáil. That's all.
