Seems to be ok here, you get a pile of ads before a show but that's to be expected.

whats the deal with the apps lately having a non-rooted requirement? the sky go app was the same when it was released
4od and SkyGo would be handy on my tablet but its a HP touchpad so is obviously rooted

The fear of people obtaining access to media with paying the provider.

And there's no problem with it working in Ireland?

Its ad supported unlike the iplayer

iplayer only supported by TV licence so because we don't pay for it we don't get it (without difficulty!)

sure you need a login for a valid account for sky go surely this wouldnt change just cause you have a rooted device and 4oD is free to access anyway...I reckon it must be something to do with all the unlicensed devices from China or something

It's because A) They can't guarantee its stability on custom firmware and B)They don't want you setting up some root only app that lets you record the content. There's certain kernels that allow you to temporally un-root, Siyah being one.

"Jiggery Pokery" [technical term] can be performed outside of the providers control. That no likey that.

    c)

they don't want you using TV-out to your telly

do yourselves a favour and get a Linux sat box, easy to setup and can stream without problem to every device I possess, even set up a dynamic DNS and can access the box remotely on my phone or tablet

Delirah that 4od came out. It's the one app that I really missed when swapping over from ipad to Android.

It doesnt seem to work either if you have your tablet tethered from a phone. Bit of a pain.
    It's working now. Deadly!

Been trying out this for a day now. This came back from Windows Mobile days and its a fairly useful app if your not really into clutter and rather have quick gestures to get to your apps.

Ive set up a pie thing from the right of the screen to give me quick access to phone, messages, internet, WiFi and BT toggle, fairly handy. I removed them all of the home screen now.

    Saves the clutter :)

    Root required

Simpsons: Tapped Out has apparently been released (doing a firmware update so can't confirm) - beware, be-very-ware!

Addictive game, I have it on my iPad. I don't know if I want it on my phone as it's a time/battery killer!

oh, you have it on your ipad?

Google Play is telling me the 4od app is incompatible with my devices. I have an HTC Desire HD. It's not rooted, anyone tell me why?

Yep, just saw it now - 4.0 and up. Thanks.

Damnit. Oh well, another excuse to get my ass in gear and get a One X (+)...

What with the One X+ due out now, there's no point in getting the One X for virtually the same money.

As much as a Samsung biased person that I am, just get the One X+ if you really want to stick to HTC.

Doesn't seem to be on my Xperia T on 4.1.2 either. Not that pushed, as I don't really want it on my phone.

Appears to be an Ireland issue, not phone issue:
This app is incompatible with your Vodafone Samsung GT-N7100.

This item cannot be installed in your device's country.
