    I guess its up to brianon, he is the person that got this started after all.

    I would hope that a more appealing game is picked this time, Carnival might have this friendly competition off to a slow start?

    Initially I was thinking we'd always go random from the list on byoac. That list seems to be mostly full of great games. Now I'm not saying Carnival is a ... "Bad" game. But it's not great imo. However, it's nice to mix it up.

    Anyway, now I'm thinking that the winner can either go random (from the list) or just pick from the list whatever they like.

    Also, we can add to the list at any time if you feel there is something worthwhile missing.

    Let my hangover go away and I'll be back later to update the leaderboard :)

    *if the winner of a week picks a game (not random) and wins on that game also, I'm inclined to say we go random then for the next week.

    Oh and I think we will bring the closing date for this one back a week to this Sunday the 3rd.

    I have a few ideas I think might help keep this series of High Score Comps going.

    1. I'll keep a thread of previous competitions and add to it as each competition run completes. An archive/History of sorts. Hopefully get it stickied.

    2. Achievements :) So we create a range of achievements/trophies that we can all try to collect.

    For instance...

    - Enter 5 competitions
    - Win 1 competition
    - Win back to back Competitions
    - Domination : Win 3 in a row
    - Win and outscore the 2nd placed score by double.
    - Top score on an 80's game
    - Top score on an 90's game
    - Top score on an 00's game
    - Time Lord : Get all the decade achievements
    - Win a Puzzle comp
    - Win a shmup comp
    - Win a platformer comp
    .... and so on.

    I'll track each players Achievements/Trophies and will keep them in the Archive/History thread. Each competition I'll announce any unlocked Achievements by players.

    What you think ?

    I think I'll give up on Carnival, I just can't pass 14000.

    I think the manner in which the next game is selected should be either voted, drawn or randomly picked. If the winner decides I fear that he may become incumbent.

    So random or vote. Seeing as next game starts tomorrow night ill see if we get enough votes for a clear winner or just go random again. Random from the list that is.

    Ok here's the deal with the next game. Everyone who played this week gets to add a game to the list we randomly choose from.

    Each week everyone who plays can add a game to the list we choose from. I'll allow duplicates to help the more popular titles get played but once a game is selected it will be removed from the list and not re-added.

    I am going to run the high score competitions over seasons of 10 weeks. 10 games over 10 weeks. Winner gets 10 pts, second 8, third 5, fourth 3, 1 pt for everyone else. Sound ok ?

    So carnival is season 1, round 1.

    My pick for round 2 is Smash TV.

    Carnival was super hard,
    I dont think I'll go back to it!
    Glad to see donkey kong is up!
    Ive a confession to make!I was walking home last night after the super bowl (fairly pissed).I was with the missus a mate that lives nearby.
    He suggested we stop into mine for some whisky and a game of donkey kong!
    so we did.The missus went to bed and we fired up the cab and cracked open a bottle.
    next thing we know its 8am and were totally ****faced!
    We were mad for it.I got to 28900 points but that was a struggle.I got passed the first elevator stage too!

    Fair play! It's a **** hard game. We did Donkey Kong as part of a similar challenge here before a year or so ago and I was awful at it :(

    On a similar note, last night my girlfriends brother was around for the evening. Many drinks were had and we decided to play through Alien Versus Predator on my cab. I'd forgotten how long it was - could barely see the screen by the end! :D

    Great fun though.
