The following is a list of US vetoed UN Resolutions.. look at how many concern Israel

You can forgive people for being utterly cynical about it being unraveled and objectively examined :(

indeed. But that's no reason for us to stop being careful and objective.

For Fcuk sake!! What do these b*stards have to do to stop first world people with access to education and information apologizing for them????

For evil to prosper, - all it requires is for good men to do nothing... remember that one??

I often thought that given the opportunity, if I'd been a GP or district nurse, a bit of similar type "ethnic cleansing" wouldn't go amiss here.

I mean there are those who just shouldn't be allowed the privilege of procreation.

My mother had the privilege six times and did a great job with it.

Just take a look around you I'm talking about skangers, junkies, dealers and general scumbags.

Do you not think we have enough of them.

I'm not apologising for Israel - why and how would I do that since I've never been there and have only read the one article on this instance of forced birth control, the one that started the thread?

When people shout words like ethnic cleansing and genocide, I get cautious. Because anger, justified as it may be, can also allow evil to prosper. I'm horrified at the idea of women being forced or duped into birth control. But it'd be an own goal to confront this with old grievances alone - that's why I was asking for objectivity and care in assessing the matter.

You mean North Korea who are pretty much the most politically and economically isolated country in the world because of all of the sanctions and trade embargos currently placed on them? The country whos boarders are almost totally closed and who are not currently occupying another nation in defiance of international law for the last several decades?

Because thats a ****ing terrible comparisson.

They can't change the law, it's in their constitution and it's the same law they use to justify the expansion of settlements in the west bank "we have to build these villages to provide homes for our new citizens".

The bastion of democracy that is the State of Israel doesn't have a constitution.

Their sizeable precentage of religious extremists object to any document deemed to have more authority than the word of God.

Sorry, I meant the Declaration of The State of Israel, which along with the Basic Laws of Israel pretty much acts as the constitution.

I meant in human rights abuses, as an example. But if the above is the way that you wish to interpret what I said...more power to you.

However, as regards occupation, then what are you personally doing about /insert nation occupying another nation/

Why is there this fixation on Israel?

Fair enough, but I meant in general. I've seen many a protest on the streets about Israel, with many nationalities involved.

Whereas there are just as many causes which don't garner as much support.

Could you imagine what would happen if China had been found to engage in such practice? There would be wall to wall coverage of how scandalous and terrible the Chinese are.

To answer your question - Israel puts itself out to be a civilised, western styled democracy. Ironically China (who would get far greater grievances in relation to such a practice on say the ethnic Tibetans) does not purport to be a western styled democracy and don't share the same values as our government's.

It's also why we don't "care" as much about North Korean abuses over say US abuses - we expect to hear the N. Koreans treat their people badly because they are the "bad guys" but the US put themselves forward as the "good guys" - but good guys are not supposed to abuse or in this case secretly administer contraceptives to "undesired" groups of people.

I'm just surprised I haven't heard more about this story - or if there are any Israeli government responses.

Are you aware of the fact that they are largely Europeans and Americans who were parachuted into a country created simply because the west felt sorry for them after WW2 ?
Having a country specially created for people who subscribe to one brand of religion delusion wasn't enough for them, but they then proceed to expand the borders of that country by force and with American backing, displacing and annexing the people who lived in these regions buldozing their homes and denying them basic human rights.

Tell me, what would you do if you were a palestinian?

I know if it were me, I'd fcukin fight them with my last breath, as some of them are doing.

So, Yes, if there is a "fixation" with Israel, it's only because they are mass murdering baby killing bast*rds pretending to be a modern democracy.

But of course, I'll be just called anti semetic for speaking the truth..

Not directly related to this story, but UN Human Rights investigators today demanded that Israel halt settlement expansion and withdraw all Jewish settlers from the occupied West Bank
The inquiry was led by French judge Christine Chanet.

She said: "Israel must, in compliance with article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention, cease all settlement activities without preconditions.

“It must immediately initiate a process of withdrawal of all settlers from the OPT [occupied Palestinian territories]," Judge Chanet said.

Huh? Nobody's denying or apologising for the above, just one person said this specific issue re the Depo injections might require further examination before jumping to conclusions...

Calling people anti Semitic puts the fear of God in some people.

Using this term slurs the person and rejects the idea of any kind of debate.

Jews have been promoting anti hate laws across all western nations.

We now have a situation that racist states like Israel can kill and bomb who they like and anybody who objects is anti Semitic.

People are even afraid to use the word Jew unless it is too grovel to them.

Israel is a state founded on the idea of Jewish supremacy.

As regards the Palestinians they have killed innocent people too two wrongs don't make a right.

Non violent people that use debate rather then violence are bullied into never disagreeing with the Jewish state of Israel.

This tactic is what turns more and more people away from the Jews and towards the Palestinians.

The real meaning of an Anti Semite is somebody the Jews don't like.

I don't hate anybody nor would I hurt anybody but I do reserve the right to dislike people.

And on the subject of hate speech and antisemitism when a Jew starts speaking I stop listening.

Israel and it's supporters sort your own house out before you try telling the rest of us what to think.

Yes, you're right, that is what what was said in this thread, but what annoyed me was the assumption of innocence. Assumption of innocence should be reserved for those who don't have a track record like the state of Israel have.
For them, as with habitual criminals, imo, the onus of proof of innocence should be on them.

Also, I haven't become involved in any of the many Israel atrocity threads which have cropped up here recently, but I've read most, and every one has plenty of Israel excusers.

This is not entirely true, the creation of the modern state of Israel is due to decades of campaigning by the Zionists, led by Theodor Herzl.

Jews migrated from Europe all through the 20th Century, although the process sped up after WWII and immigration went through the roof.
