recently thinking silva AND aguero, to go along with my mata-ba couple. i figure man city are gimped unless both silva and aguero perform, one assisting the other and vice versa, etc. tevez is that weird third wheel though...

But you'd be 'gimped' if City or Chelsea don't perform!

well then i revert back to the logic that it's about how their individual performances stand-up, not how the team does. this is contradicting myself a little but oh well lol.

2 from Chelsea and 2 from City is just asking for trouble.

it's also asking for you to be missing out on an awful lot of other big hitters. you'll be doing well for that one to work out.

It does have the advantage of no CL complications, though.

I'll still likely have only one from each.

Id be very surprised if swansea agreed to that date Im sure they would like to be able to Celebrate their expected cup success on the sunday night . Couldnt see them agreeing to play 3 days later.
I know last year when liverpool were in it their back match against Chelsea didnt get played till GW 36 I think

Opinions on this team? I have no back-up keeper because I plan on just going with Begovic every week and all I had left to spend was 3.9 million so just filling the squad. I've squeaked out every cent. Is not having a back-up keeper a mental idea?

EDIT- Obv haven't changed my captain from last week yet.

I like your front 7 . We are starting to see a lot of RVP sturridge Aguero front 3's a great choice IMO. Havent seen a team yet with two city attacking options in fact lots of people have no City attacking cover the obvious advice would be change silva to bale or fellani but you could be on to something there. Nelsen is gone from qpr after the next game so you would want to ship him out. Barring injury you will be fine with just begovic only problem could be fa cup weekends later in the season with stokes games been called off if there due to face a team thats still in the cup meaning you will have no keeper.

Take Nelson out, he only has one game left before moving to Canada. The whole keeper thing is risky imo. It's good to have options! Plus Stoke haven't exactly being lighting the world on fire defensively anyway!

I am WC to a very similar team-
Same GK (except Bunn instead of Rudd) and FWD
Similar mid Silva - bale, guthrie- punch
Defence I have Davies and harte but with Gibbs, Zab, O Brien

Happy with team and sticking with Beg was considering dropping him for De Gea- may do this when Wilson returns. But happy to go with this for now

But if you dropped Silva for Fellani maybe could really upgreade defence

with liverpool and swansea both out of the fa cup now theres a fair chance that game will be scheduled for the 5th rd fa cup weekend Feb 16 which would be classed as GW 26.
    Giving us a DGW of
    Swansea QPR H Liverpool A
    Liverpool WBA H Swansea H
Both Swansea and Liverpool wont have a game the week after GW 27.

What are we to make of Rafa's comments on Luiz, sounds like wednesday is possible and the weekend likely?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,600 ✭✭✭roryc

Yeah its a tough one. I have him and Cameron. If neither play I'm stuck with a defence of:

    Gibbs vs Liverpool
    Demel vs Fulham
    Harte vs Chelsea

Demel isn't guaranteed after his disastrous performance against Arsenal, he was at fault for a number of goals. Either way this line up screams of a combined total of <6 points, and I'd love a clean sheet. Can't even remember what they look like.

If Luiz is back for the weekend I might change Cameron instead, but this means getting in Clichy/Nastasic over Zabaleta. Either way an extra transfer will cost me 4 points so it's not a guarantee I'll even do it yet.

Thinking about downgrading Michu to De Guzman so I could afford Aguero...am I mad?!

Yes, Michu is undroppable as he will score a few one week and you'll be pulling your hair out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,748 ✭✭✭Swiper the fox

Sure anyone can score a few goals any week, Michu can't be considered undroppable unless you've had him from the very beginning where you would stand to make a huge loss on him by shipping him now, he completely overachieved this year IMO, his conversion rate of chances was off the scale. With the recent spread of scorers throughout the Swansea team I wouldn't consider him value at his current price, only an opinion of course and sure to be proved wrong:o but he is not someone I expect huge returns from any more, still in my team so I hope I'm wrong.

Take a chance on someone else, why not???

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,802 ✭✭✭statss

I took a thinking of dropping Michu. I can see Swansea going off the boil.

I want Mata but someone's gotta go!

I've been dwelling over this for the last week and am at coin toss stage trying to decide between Walcott and Bale. I'd almost convinced myself Bale was the one to keep due to a combination of Arsenal's tendency to drop Walcott a bit deeper on occasion and Bale's upcoming games being slightly more favourable.

BUT pricing is now coming into it.
    According to FISO:
    - Walcott could rise to 9.5 soon / bought him at 8.9
    - Bale is on a downward price trend / bought him at current price.

So I stand to lose money on Walcott by shipping him and lose nothing on Bale. Furthermore Walcott is slightly more consistent no matter the position he plays.

The only alternative is to take a -8 hit in order to have Walcott, Bale and Mata.

    Help me please :)

He's actually having more chances lately .

From GW1-20 he was averaging a 2.9 shots a game , GW21-23 it's gone up to 3.7 a game . Just not finding the target or the net as much .

    He'll come good again .

Bale isn't on a downward trend, he's getting transfers in actually. He nearly went down to 9.7, but he's at -57% now.

With Cech out for tomorrow I have another chance to use my dgw hangover Turnbull, what do ye reckon, him or Begovic, Stoke conceding a lot but Wigan won't have much, Chelsea look to have a great chance of a clean sheet against Reading but still shaky enough at the back and Cech's absence won't help.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,305 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Prodston

Silva is at 102% now on fiso, but he won't go up in price until sometime after 7:30 tonight? I'm not playing my wildcard til after then but want to fit him in and can't afford to do it until Wildcarding

All price increases take effect at about 2:30am, so it won't be until tomorrow morning.

For some reason Luiz has gone right back down to -62%? He's been confirmed injured, why would a lot of people transfer him IN?

Could be a glitch in FISO
