Just wondering which paid league will have more entries (in effect asking which will have the bigger prize money pool), the FSA one or the Soccer one?

From what I can gather each have about 35 entries at the moment?

Anybody know how long it takes the FF site to update teams after a new player is signed?

Depends on the player. Took about a week for them to add Vlaar to Villa after signing, whereas Carzola will probably be in the Arsenal squad in a day or 2.

Just wondering what peoples thoughts would be on an "off-topic" thread? Just for general banter, not necessarily FF or football related (although i'm sure it would inevitably end up mainly that way) or whatever? I know they have one in the health and fitness forum that's popular?

Anyway if people think its a good idea maybe the Mods can put it together??:)

I deleted all my bookmarks at the end of last season, and can't find the one site I used that showed the upcoming fixtures, colour-coding each fixture by difficulty. I checked the resources page and couldn't find it.

Anyone have any idea what I'm talking about?

Even a link to any *correct* spreadsheet-type-thing would be useful.

What is the general consensus for this double gameweek first week of the season?? Are people stocking up on Chelsea and Reading players only to be left with them or are they not taking it too much into consideration??

I currently have A Cole, Hazard, Torres, and Pogrebnyak

But after a bit of consideration i'm thinking of replacing Hazard with either Bale or VDV...

Right a burning issue - what way are these going to be worked out this year? Early on in the season it was all about goals - hence imo some of the super high scores for forwards. However towards the end of the season it appeared to be more about all round play with defenders and goalies getting some points.

It could have significant bearing given the likes kompany and vidic could hoover up some points this year and therefore having 4/5 cheap defenders might not be the way to go.

    Thoughts welcome.

While I won't touch him myself, Allen's move to Liverpool means Gerrard should pretty much being playing right off the strikers most of the season.

I'm guessing Allen and Lucas will be in charge of the middle, allowing Gerrard to wander and attack as he sees fit.

Makes him a better choice than last season, but no Liverpool player is worth 9.5m, IMO.

Fixtures wise I agree but once the big games are out of the way depending on how Liverpool are playing, Gerrard, Suarez and maybe Borini will be worth considering

When one team is at home the other team is away. Therefore if you have one of each they will rotate well together and always have a home game between them.

It's for Policing reasons. Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, London (North and West) and Newcastle/Sunderland have to do it when possible.

In my first season I did very well. Hadn't a clue about the game and made a load of stupid transfers. Ended up missing out on top spot in our club league and winning a couple of hundred because of those transfers.

Next season I made more stupid transfers and essentially gave up on the game due to a rubbish team and college.

Last season I made one extra transfer and had my best season by far. Got top spot in our club league at Christmas and stayed there till the end. Of course there was no money on offer this time round.

It's interesting to see that I had 59 more points 2 years ago but I finished 24,000 places lower. If I had that score last season I wouldn't have been too far off the top I'd say.

    Season Points Rank
    2009/10 2269 30565

That year 09/10 was the year Ronaldo ran riot in every game. Everyone had him captain for almost every game and it brought the scores way up...

No it wasn't. He moved the year before that. I never had Ronaldo on my team.

It was the year that Rooney scored all the goals. I was over at the Hull game where he scored 4 goals. He had a DGW that week and I had him as captain. Ended up with 64 points from him and 140 overall. My best week ever by a long shot.

    Season - Points - Rank
    2008/09 - 1927 - 70190
    2009/10 - 2157 - 122194
    2010/11 - 2171 - 1984
    2011/12 - 2210 - 4130

My points have gotten higher each year but not my rank although the last couple of years have been pretty good. I'm always on holidays for the first few weeks of the season which starts me on the back foot and it's catch up after that. This years no different, on holiday from Saturday until GW4 with limited internet access. Looking to hit the top 1000 this year hopefully!
