Aaahhh dude, its' all, (well maybe not all) flooding back to me. Meeting people who totally blank you, whom you later find out you tried to snog the previous night. finding strange phone no.s, girls, clothes, in your bedroom the following morning. unexplained marks on your body,( in various places ), missing watches, no money, abusive voicemails left on your phone, which you find on the driveway, (p.s. wheres the car? ). Used also wake up with the wrong jacket, not finding out who owned it till they stopped you in the street and asked for it back!! Man those were the days. no-one died, everyone got back, (eventually) to being friends, all part of growing (slowly) up.....cheers for the memories dude!!

I can remember talking to her, dancing (ugh) with her in the nightclub.
I woke up in her bed naked the next day and still have no idea if we had sex or not. If I thought I was so drunk that I was falling unconscious I'd obviously have thought not, but I know I was reasonably ok up until a certain point.
There's some really weird stuff actually. I had another story typed out too but it's just too much.

I do feel the same afterwards about the dancing :D I just hope not to many people I know saw me :o I think it's a good measurement for me too as in if I'm dancing in a nightclub I'm pretty drunk and don't need anymore alcohol no matter how much I think I do, I don't always listen though. Try use and see does it help you at all.

The girl thing has happened to me too, I don't think I've had sex in those instances, I presume I fall asleep as soon as I hit the bed, I'd think I'd be able to tell from how my penis feels the next morning anyway as bad as that sounds.

We should go drinking together some night, it would be carnage :pac:

It's all fun and games until you wake up in a bush out some random backgarden with blood on your jeans and a used tampon beside you.

Once after a Muse gig in Marley Park about 4 years ago.

It was litteraly 2 weeks before the country hit an Iceberg, money and alcohol were a plenty, bird's were having sex with bee's......and I woke up covered in vomit in an unfamiliar house in Glasnevin with people shouting at me in Irish:o

I think some young bucko tried to assault me on the way home monday night but his pals pulled him away, no call for that - defo got bruises on my elbows for being like a drunken bambi on ice.

Coulda been a different kind of blackout altogether had my head met a fist or the ice, be careful.

Happens for me but it'd only be conversations I'd forget.. Always remember where I went but sometimes forget what we were talking about. Now that I've cut down on how often i drink, my tolerance has gotten pretty low and it happens easier.

Do you black out every time you drink, or maybe it never happens to you?
    No, never.

On a side note, you'll eventually not be able to remember anything longterm, aside from before you started heavy drinking, as the bridge between short-term and long-term memory will be cut.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,082 ✭✭✭sheesh

Harsh! I'm not talking about passing out you know that right?
You have never had memory lose from drinking, ever?

If you were to pick a nightclub like Coppers for example, I'd be willing to bet that at the very least 25% of the clientele will have memory loss the following day.

yes maybe that might be a self serving assumption on your part, that does not mean that it is a good idea, or that they are doing it as regularly as you.

You began the op saying that you couldn't stop drinking

there are things that might not register as you were so drunk but that is not what you seem to be describing

Been there too many times to count. I forget conversations I've had or meeting certain people, or I might know that I went to a certain pub during the night, but can't really remember being there. That said, I'm in my early 20s, so I think it's more just a sign of my age, and I know plenty of other people my own age who have similar experiences. I know I will eventually get to a point in the coming years where getting sh*tfaced is no longer appealing.
